It takes me an hour for me to get to the Rent longer for Storrs. I've gone there to watch track meets for crissakes! And the proximity of Bradley to either location is great for visitors.

I have driven past Provo a few times on my way out to CA. Always grabbed a bite near one of the interchanges. What I remember was the towering mountains overhead. Kept telling myself to go visit sometime when I had more time. It looked very attractive. And of course Sundance is near. Opens for skiing December 1.
Sundance and skiing are definitely options if you're staying a few days. For a quick little hike, you can go up to the giant Y they have on the side of the mountain and it provides a nice view of Provo. Or if it's the right time of the year, Bridal Veil Falls is nice and easy to get to.

The most frustrating aspect of all this is the national perception around UConn football.
It was abysmal from the time RE 1.0 left until the hire of Mora. No doubt about it.

But people don’t even realize the job Mora did in just 1 year to turn it around from legitimately a bottom 5 team in the country.

As Mora has stated countless times, and I’m sure Yormark is well aware of- the football facilities here are top notch. We’ve only just scratched the surface of UConn football in its limited history in D1. Have been a top 20 team before. Been to a BCS bowl.

The Patriots are not a dynasty anymore. The door is open for a good football team to take over the state of CT. It’s not like the Jets or Giants have been that exciting for a while now either.

I think UConn has the highest ceiling as a college football program in New England, and maybe even the state of New York, as well. Get us into a P5 and see what happens with 5 years of Mora. The fans are there ready for the taking. They will come as the wins come. Same deal happened with the basketball program post-Ollie.

Why didn’t anyone who voted Colorado into the Big 12 even blink an eye at their 1-11 football program? And Deion Sanders, as flashy as a hire as that is… how confident are we in his abilities to lead a P5 program coming off a 1-11 season? Is he a better football coach than Jim Mora? It’s not like their basketball program are world beaters either. But UConn football would set the conference back? I just don’t understand.

I’m a basketball guy primarily, but please enlighten me what I’m missing about the potential of UConn football and why even Colorado is more attractive to the Big 12 than UConn.
One 6-7 season does not erase a decade of under performing, which, btw, included its own 6-7 season. Still a losing season, and whether or not the upward trend will continue is not yet demonstrated. The last time previously, it did not.

And we are perceived as yankees, which we are.

I mean, he didn't really? He basically said Kansas has a better program than UConn which isn't exactly a crazy argument to make? It was more our fans that went ballistic.

It's not really even trolling though? Like what's the rub or who's he pissing off? Maybe a handful of people who think he's maybe credible end up being proven wrong?
I think people pass on what they hear, but nobody "knows" because it can't be known. Same with recruiting. Kid can change his mind at the last minute. Doesn't mean "he's probably going to X" was wrong. The situation is fluid.

As for being an actual KU fan, bringing up Dean Smith usually confirms that for me. Most UConn fans don't know that Dean Smith is from Emporia, KS and played at KU for Phog Allen (who played for Naismith). Adolph Rupp is from Kansas too, also played for Phog Allen (he was a bench player on one of those Helms teams). So when GoKU said what he did, it's because KU takes some credit for the success of both UNC and Kentucky on top of what KU has done. It really is the birthplace of college basketball in many ways.

Then explain why this program was so easily accepted into the conference. All because they played in a better conference? Well they’ve proved for 2 decades they don’t belong in a power conference for football.

Is the guy on trial now for posting what he was told? If it turns out his info doesn't pan out that's one thing. As I've said before (aside from Colorado which should have been obvious to everyone who wasn't wrapped up in the hysteria) nobody knows nothing for sure. There are a few in the Big 12 who do and Dave Benedict, and they aren't talking. No reason to start bashing anyone who comes in here, compliments our program and puts up with our insanity.

You know he was told something? Ok now we have a breakthrough.

The reasons I gave seem to look like he wasn't.

Is giving false promises to a fanbase and saying we don't measure up to Kansas complementing our program? What would his insults be?

Like I said, I don't have an issue with him. I just don't find him particularly credible, but being credible isn't a prerequisite for posting on the Boneyard.

People like Fort Worth. The guy from the show Fixer Upper said Waco is the new Austin. Boulder is nice and cheap flights. Utah is beautiful but not much of a party destination.
Haha, Waco is not nice. The Joanna Gaines store is probably the only reason to go there.

Why is this so hard. You either believe him or you don’t.
Nothing is ever going to be proven so what’s the point? If people want to take comfort in what he says, why are you the anointed one that has to shout that he isnt.
Nobody is arguing that you have to believe him, only why they do. But you are the only one arguing why they shouldn’t believe him.
And getting pretty worked up about it too….

Well, how this works is, someone responds to a post with a question, you answer it.

Why is that so hard? And why would you say I am the only one arguing it? Others have said the same thing. I happen to be the one getting the replies.

So the rule according to you is I am only to reply to something you agree with?

I don't get the trolling vibe at all. He could be wrong, but he's been posting here for months with a pretty even keeled demeanor.

Would be an exceedingly bizarre way for someone to waste their time.
More than that. Indicated Colorado would be the first domino and it was. Indicated almost immediately after that announcement a new wrinkle developed and U of A had contacted the B12. News came out confirming this over the following several days. Indicated it was a two or four situation. Colorado with UConn or if U of A was coming it was Colorado with U of A and x with UConn and he had word x was Arizona State.

I believe he is reliable and unless something drastically changes UConn and its fans should know the status fairly quickly. Probably this week but not later than next.

Edit: He also said U of A had a deadline of August 1 before it was common knowledge.

I think Colorado leaving the PAC12 fluidized the situation in ways not anticipated in light of the PAC12 media situation. So now the question is whether or not the B12 goes to 16 teams. I think that it is likely that AZ joins only on the predication that ASU also be given an invite. Assuming the answer to that is YES, then that would then bring a UConn v Utah for the 16th spot into play. Which would present a true test of BY's strength. If the answer is NO, UConn would likely be given the last spot if AZ does not join and the B12 would stop at 14.

Interesting that the only board meeting today is AZ.

Sheesh!!! We gotta segue to the UConn QB situation as soon as possible. Sick of this stuff, yet can't put it down.

Yet our coach has been hinting the same thing yet some choose to ignore it! Seems about right.
Which coach do you believe has said that if Connecticut leaves the big east we won't be killing the big east, we are just reacting to decisions other schools have made?

This board has gone from 500 pages of conference realignment speculation and debate to speculation solely about if a particular poster is legit and debate about that. Either GoKU is legit or he is some sort of genius, testing his ability on the Boneyard to sway conversational topics and overthrow governments in the future!

6 hours connecting flights and then 1 hour drive. Add 3 hours at the airport. That's 10 hours to get there.

That's my definition of not easy.

Anyone else concerned by the lack of ASU movement talk? If it’s just Zona we’re screwed.

The thing that worries me most is that the Big 12 can stop at 14 and be completely fine. If we aren't that 14th team - which we know by now that we're not, otherwise we would have our invite already - then we're in deep deep trouble

How, pray tell, do we know that we're not? Nobody knows jack squat for 100% certain except the people keeping tight lipped

Just let stuff

Why would Arizona and ASU Board if Reageants, who run both schools, hurt asu? They aren’t. It has to be a package deal
I trust you more than GoKU at this point. Gonna be another beer night.
