Because at the end of the day, Yormark is at the mercy of the Big 12 schools. He works for them, not the other way around.

It is possible BYU would try to block Utah for revenge. If Utah doesn't make it to Big 12, they are up the creek. Don't think Big 10 would take them soon. They may find themselves in a situation like UConn if the Pac 12 implodes.

All of the rumors suggest that B12 is targeting PAC12 schools. The PAC12 is imploding because the value of their content was very low, relative to other conferences. It would seem that the logical play would be to court more schools in the central and eastern time zones, where there is a larger population, and a higher viewing interest.
