If Alex doesn't come back then we will need a more impactful 4 who could play 5 but be a backup. I'm not sure who is out there besides the ones mentioned before Baba, Ohio St. Forward and the PItt F/C. Too bad the Quinnipiac guy isn't out there anymore. He would be a great backup 4 thought a little too small for a backup 5. He was more a 3/4 than a 4/5.
Idk what staff is envisioning I just read they’re interested in Europeans

lol, Karaban’s legacy isn’t tarnished because some think he blocked UConn from getting some top tier replacement. If he decides not to come back, I’m sure he will be devastated that the 175 people who don’t know how to use social media think he’s a rat and are prepared to tell him so if he ever steps into their retirement village.
I am not one of the ones trashing him, but I am sure it is not just retirement villages but Stamford apartments.

I think Stewart will be the starter if Karaban doesn't come back and I feel good based on the end of year how he was playing. He just now needs to be more aggressive on offense as we are going to need him as a shooter. He can't sit at the 3 point line and do an occassional cut to the basket. He is going to have to be moving and looking for his shot in our offense. We will need him to be big contributor next year. Ross I don't really have much confidence in from what I saw and hope we are looking for more depth pieces in the portal if Alex doesn't come back to back up at PF or even SF. I think Mullins will start at SF based on the current lineup but having more reliable depth there would be helpful.
Often we do not give enough credence to a players approach on offense being influenced by who was on the floor with him. With both Alex and Liam on the floor the offense often ran through them. There is only one ball in the game and it tends to be in the hands of the point guard most often.

This coming from the basement of his parents house and agreeing with the 23 kids who are with him!;)

I mean, isn't that inherent in "decision making" ? If he already knew the answer, why wouldn't he just announce it.

A blinding glimpse of the obvious if you ask me, but the people who think that a decision was already made but they’re just pretending otherwise are slow to it.

As of yesterday, he legit had not decided. I get it - it’s a really, really hard decision with upsides and downsides and they’ll all be on him, so I get the indecision.

But it’s not been ideal for us, but at the same time, we can’t point to anything and say we missed out. (I don’t think we were ever really interested in the Cal transfer….that was a bad fit.) But the time is coming.

Alex is our best option at the 4 so I hope he returns. 3 year starter, just about a pro, coach on the floor, fully grown man at 21/22, looking for ways to improve his already very solid game. With better offensive ball movement Alex is a better scorer. I predict both Alex and UConn have a very good year if he returns. Best of Luck either way, Alex is a straight up Husky for Life.

No doubt it would be the best result I agree. And quite honestly he should I think it’s best for him but he’s his own man I wish him the best. Just do it already.

Meanwhile, ESPN's way too early ranking as this as number six

And that is without Alex. I think fishy's spot on when he points out that this is a hard decision for Alex. Hopefully we'll know within the next day or so one way or the other.

Alex will be better too, if he comes back. He thrives as a 2nd or 3rd option on offense. Demary and Reed will probably be our two first looks on offense, even if AK is our high scorer.

I'm going with the collective wisdom(?) of many here and saying he wouldn't string us along this far. Coaches know he is coming back.

My lips to God's ears.
I’d love to agree, but then what would be the reason for NOT announcing that he’s returning? Delaying Miller’s decision so he doesn’t transfer to another NC contender? No.

Obviously decision, g league is a crappy life. Get paid to stay and improve with more complimentary pieces that enable you to shine

Leaving to early is a bad decision. Ask daniel hamilton and his brothers. Where is daniel now? According to ray allen, Daniel hated school so he left. Imo if he stayed one more year, he would have played 10 years in NBA. Alex loves school and in new world makes big coin.
