Between this game, Baylor, and Depaul, I think UConn has turned the ball over against a zone collapse 25 times.

Geno tells his team to stand around for 20 seconds so they do and never get a shot off.

.-.
Collier's shot blocked inside for the 3rd time. Another poor entry pass by UConn.

Well people, looks like this team misses Chong today.

.-.
Geno was taking timesout by just slowing the offense. He's okay with a shot clock violation with a lead: gives the kids a bit of a blow. They're running out of steam, physically and mentally. Pheesa especially has rubber legs from Wed. That's why the blocks: just a little slower than usual. Probably Gabby tired too.

corrected because of Sluconn below.

They are playing poorly, If Kstate was competent it would be single digits
I am not privy to watching this game but to read the thread I hear some people praising K-State for being a pretty good and OVERLOOKED team while others imply, as you did, that UConn is playing like crap and are only winning because K-State is lousy! I don't think we can have it both ways, can we? Maybe UConn is a little flat but there is suggestions here that K-State is doing something positive to keep the Huskies from totally dominating the game.

K State is cutting into the lead. However with how Geno is slowing the team down and making them run 30 seconds off the clock, K State won't have time to come all the way back. Don't think they would have anyway. :) Not a great game for Gabby. Four minutes left Gabby has 3 points.

This might be the ND hangover we're seeing. Not physically so much as mentally. We're making mistakes we don't usually make.

Welp, the score in the first 6 minutes of the 4th quarter is 3-2.

Ugly, ugly, ugly! No intensity and sense of urgency whatsoever from our guys. Hope Geno reads them the riot act after this one.

I can't fault the team for being tired. 3 of them played a full 40 minutes against the #2 team in the country. Add to that the stress of finals and travel, and I'd be a little concerned if they weren't tired. It's not their best game by any means. It might be one of their worst showings of the year. But they'll get some rest, get some hard practices in, and will likely perform better on the 19th.

Not to mention they just had final exams in between all these games and plane rides.

.-.
I predicted a 14 point win. K State is a decent team--not far off top 25. We were bound to have a let down after huge ND win. And then they lose Chong. Cut the team some slack on this one.

I suspect it's not the same people making both of those paradoxical arguments.'

There's no doubt that K State has been playing better ball than many of the teams who are "ranked."

I think we just want this game to be over. Good learning experience in the quest to get better. The schedule is tough and they have to be as well. Coaches will use this game to teach about mental fatigue.

Great to see Gabby get that drive and the and-one.

She's had a rough game and was visibly flustered when she missed that previous jumper.
