Liv practicing a new shot for the Sparks game tonight(Also check out her hair)
Sabrina is certainly on a roll that deserves a bunch of acclaim. The 7 of 8 from three-pt. land, while also rebounding and assisting at all-pro levels caught my eye. BTW, Marine Johannes just missed a double-double with 11 pts and 9 assists.
But you know what else caught my eye? The production from the Liberty centers. In just under 19 minutes, Stef Dolson scored 11 points on 4-6 shooting from the floor and 3-3 from the FT line. And then Han Xu, in just under 20 minutes, goes 11-12 from the field and 2-2 from the FT line for 24 points. That's 35 points from your center position against, primarily, A'ja Wilson and Kiah Stokes, who combined for 33.
Han Xu is going to be really really good. 6-10 with good mobility and an excellent face up game at just 22 years old. They're going to be really really good if they keep Xu, Ionescu and Johannes together plus bring in Stewart next year. Not to mention they could be in the lottery and have a good shot at a Boston or Jones type of player.Sabrina is certainly on a roll that deserves a bunch of acclaim. She's 32, I hope she's not the point guard of the future.I get the no love lost for Diggins on this board but she is definitely a fierce competitor.
. . .
I don't know if she is the PG in waiting for Team USA as her play was a little erratic at times. She is one of the best guards in the league and doesn't seem to be a bad teammate. That being said she complains, a lot, just like some other players. I prefer players to just keep quiet and play the game.
Add Clark to the mix too. Aside from a few standouts, the depth and starpower of guard play has always been underwhelming compared to the depth of elite forwards and centers USA churns out, so it's exciting to see several elite guards up and coming who could be the face of USA basketball going forward. She's 32, I hope she's not the point guard of the future.
I'd like to see USA Basketball invest in Sabrina and Paige. Would love having two great-passing combo guards on the court at the same time.
I like where your head's at. A lineup of Ionescu, Johannes, Jones, Stewie and Xu would have some pretty insane offensive versatility!Han Xu is going to be really really good. 6-10 with good mobility and an excellent face up game at just 22 years old. Jones? We also have Howard, Laney and Whitcomb.I like where your head's at,. A lineup of Ionescu, Johannes, Jones, Stewie and Xu would have some pretty insane offensive versatility!
Diggins is smaller than both those players and not soft, she takes and initiates contact the other 2 don't do that at least not yet. Diggins might be 32, but I'm sure we just had 2 players almost near 40 play in the Olympics. She takes care of herself, I have no doubt she will still be a top player in 2024.She's 32, I hope she's not the point guard of the future.

Quigley had to be dragged back by the fans to compete in the 3pt competition. Maybe would not have competed if not in Chicago. She had started both rounds a little slow but ended them spectacularly. Especially the finals when she knocked down multiple bonus balls and those 3 pt green balls way out.I was shocked that Plum didn't make it further. Like Wilson was commentating, "Relax out there! Too tight!" But congrats, to everyone, especially Quigley. Shooting the lights out!!
Winner plays AzziQuigley vs Curry in a 3-point shootout in next year's All Star Game
See (saw) your point. For the vast majority of players, it looked like an ungainly heave. The all-star games have a hard enough time balancing the fine line between sport and show. Something like this can put it over the top. At some point, the game may very well catch up to the reality, but I think the league is not there, yet.Who ever thought of that 4pt shot in the WNBA All-Star game should be fired. Enticing players to shoot beyond their range and clanking shots so the players look incompetent. And with the game now a mismatch (20 pt deficit at half) , the trailing team will try to shoot those shots even more.
The point guard with Sue against Japan at the end of the game was Gray, and Jewell, along with Plum will be the shooting guards.Yes, I'm being petty, yes, the all-star game is not a real barometer, and yes, she has some nice defensive plays, but: Diggins was 1-9 and 1-6 from outside. I dare say even past-her-prime DT would have made more of an impact. Who's the clown now? Maybe the 'tude should follow the play that warrants it, rather than the other way around...
