Joey California

The kid plays well within the offense and to the extent he is wanting defensively, it is offset by the D played by the other four on the floor. All of the new kids bring something to the table, and do their job on the court. Lot of depth and balance.

I like most of the nicknames, but I keep imagining walking into a deli and ordering a "Joey Calcaterra" from the sandwich board.

That is better than "Dani California" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers getting stuck in your head every time you read/hear it. It's not one of their strongest songs.

Wish we had another year or two with him. Putting on some lean mass would really help him. Offensively speaking he should be starting for us but he struggles on defense. He has a lot of trouble defending the PnR.

Joey is senior year Giffeye with his upgraded shooting of 3’s that year for us so far. Giffeye was probably a better defender but having Giffeye was a vital piece that brought us a championship. Can he do this all year?

I was curious whether Joey Callhimwhatyoulike or his former Toreros knew how much of a cult hero he has become. Turns out, I don't even think the Toreros have an active message board. Surely Joey C must know about this.

Here is his theme song from California. Cue the music when he is coming in:

If it doesn't incorporate some iteration of retrowave venice palms, they've botched the job.
