I’ve always found you to be completely serious about it.I make jokes about stalking teenagers?
Agreed - not only did he back-fill, he back-filled with pieces that all fit together with the talent and style of play on the roster. Time will tell if it is enough to get us up a rung on the BE and national ladders. I am still hopeful for a lock-down defender that is around/over 6'7" because we don't have one of those and we could certainly use one in spots from time to time (even if they don't score). For what it’s worth, this is exactly the time you would expect to pick up a kid like this out of the portal. He is a perfect addition adding functional depth to the team.
Remember last year when people were complaining that Hurley wouldn’t use the portal? He has been absolutely masterful with it this year.
Plus Niels played 24 minutes in the NCAA final as a freshman.Niels was also a great defender so that might be a stretch but just having an effective shooter would be a real plus.
A+ use of A+A+ use of depth scholly.

By point of comparison AJ was a starter and averaged 6.8 per game and the tape showed Calacaterra taking contested 3s and taking the ball to the hole which AJ cannot do. I'll take this guy in a second. He looks like he has some skills. I don’t know enough about the San Diego roster to know why he only scored 8ppg. Looks like he can create a little and has a textbook stroke from deep. He may see the court a fair amount.
Jesus would you let the Castle quote go already? Kid said he wanted to bring UConn back to the promised land and you're still whining about a couple words... give it up....You missed the point. And I wasn't commenting on the sales pitch line.
I heard this same jam on hold with Cox yesterdayA new record for the worst mixtape music ever

I don’t think anyone wants to bring in a 5 who will play 10mpg as a part of the rotation. We need a mid major grad transfer who wants a chance to experience the NCAAs, understanding there is probably little to no PT if all goes well, but who could be a serviceable center for 15-20 per game if Sanogo goes down.because bigs take more time to develop and johnson is still very raw by all accounts. i dont want to bring in a 3rd string PF/C to take PT from samson when it looks like he might only average ~10 mpg this year as is. i dont want him to bloom into a future pro on another team. just look at a traditional depth chart. i realize we have positional versatility but if we predominantly play a 4 out w/ AJ at the 4 then we could use depth at SF more than PF/C.
Newton - Diarra
Alleyne - Calcaterra
Hawkins - ???
Jackson - Karaban - Johnson
Sanoogo - Clingan - Springs
If you look at the June OV schedule and positions of those recruits.. Should tell you where staff is prioritizing their effortsWhoa, we need some serious guards for 23-24 and on...
This kid isn’t going to play lol

I would assume he is going to play 5-10 mins a game.
He'll play. Anyone who scored 19, 11, and 10 points against Gonzaga in their last 3 games is good enough to play some minutes at a high level. Why not? If he can make shots why would we sit him?
Newton is a senior this year????? I guess he is. Wow. Thought he was only going to be a juniorView attachment 76913
