Joe Moorhead rumors (and others)

Moorhead coached at Fordham, of course he would take the UConn job

Not quite sure what you're implying? I mean, Vince Lombardi coached at Fordham, Moorehead is a Fordham alum? By the way, Moorehead's 2013-2015 Fordham teams, that beat Army, Temple, etc - would have given UConn all it could handle.

Living down here in football country, I'm hoping we get Les Miles but that's just a dream. The guy can recruit w anyone including Saban. We will be a top 25 team in year 1 , hands down! And if he decides to leave later on he would left the program in great shape.
Tampahusky lives in Texas?

Moorhead or Miles please.

If we hire Shiano I'll cry.

Edsall is fine but that would likley mean our first options said no.

Al Golden is intriguing and probably realistic, but he's your classic retread.

Orlando would be boring but solid.

Schiano would bring a TON of publicity to our program. If he was forced to bring in a very good OC I'd be so in.

I think it was mentioned somewhere else...and I know he said he didn't want to get back into head coaching due to his health...but Jerry Kill was at Minnesota when Benedict was there. To be honest, I didn't know much about Kill...but looking at his background, he would be a good choice. Especially with successful HC experience in a tough place to win.

I still think BD will look to someone he knows....like Lashlee or Kill.

Kill is now at Rutgers as the OC. Signed on last week.

You guys have a lot of faith in familiarity. Too much I think. TJ? Really?

Next guy needs a dramatic turnaround. I could give a fig where he used to live.

Im hearing Moorhead took himself out of consideration

As he should. Guy is one year away from a P5 job. Going 5-7 at Uconn is going in the opposite direction of that.

I hope DB has his guy. If only to shorten the weeks of speculation.

Agreed. TJ would be disheartening. We cannot be someone's training ground again. I would personally like Les Miles despite his offensive issues. He is a monster recruiter and can run a program. Total nut job but he could easily make us an 8 win program in the short term.

Plenty of #uconnfootball alum who have been earning their stripes over the last decade. They need to be considered for assistant jobs

Can we agree that there has to be an assistant on new staff with UConn roots and ability to recruit? <cough> @JonathanWholley <cough>
