Don't love the Charlton hire on paper based his results -- he had pretty mediocre offenses at Maine, even by CAA standards (pretty much 5th every year in scoring). Love a lot of the other things (previous HC experience, NE guy, young). With that said our offense cannot be worse so welcome Nick!
This yr he did that with a redshirt Fr at QB for the last 7 games and the offense got better including winning 5 of their last 6.

Not really, Mora may be the defacto DC if he chooses. I want to see the OL coach.
If that were the case, I think that info would have come out already. Would be very surprised if there isn’t a DC installed.

So anyone know anything about Charlton’s offensive philosophy (pun intended)? What sort of offense did Maine run and is it something that might be able to translate to the FBS level

Charlton was the OC in 2018 when Maine went to the semi-finals in the FCS playoffs. This is the full game of Maine upsetting Western Kentucky in 2018.

Could Osborn actually be an Assistant DL coach instead of THE DL coach?

Not for nothing but Charlton and Maine beat UMASS and URI this year. Maine got off to a slow start due to a tough schedule but finished the year strong. Obviously he should really be keyed in to the Northeast recruiting wise.

That’s great to know. Definitely not a hater because I’ll take a mediocre offense at this point :)

Seems like the first round of announced/leaked coaching appointments were New England/Northeast guys and the rest of the staff from far-reaching areas. Hopefully the right balance of geographical recruiting areas; most important is that they're good positional coaches seven days a week. Fingers crossed we got the right guys.

You could make him whatever you like until the official announcement - just going by the Twitter intel.

Good point. Off the top; not one TX recruit has been a + level player yet. In simplistic terms you are either a - player, neutral or plus level player. Maybe Modeste, Y. Walker and verbal commit Xavier Brown (should he stick) have the best chance to be a plus player.

They used to say about oil deals, no good investment opportunities ever left Texas. Maybe the same is true of high school football players.

They might all be hiding. Think about it. A RB Coach or a QB Coach only needs to recruit 1 above average guy in the position group, LB maybe 2 per year. But on this team the new OL Coach may need as many as 4 or 5 guys with at least 2 or 3 ready to plug in right away. It's a big challenge.
