Apparently Calhoun is lighting the team up at practice. Several beat writers tweeting about it, saying they've never seen him this angry. Even going after Wolf & Bradley.

Good.

the loss of focus is apparent. AO been too chatty to the media, Bazz and Lamb have both been enigmatic on the court. time to reel it in, get back to basics. Tough defense and ball control

Its warranted. Team is playing without any emotion, without a sense of unity and most of all no passion.

Hopefully he gets buy in to throwing the ball I to the post and playing nside out. Our offensive is so predictable teams are hedging our screen in roll knowing Bazz won't pass to our bigs. Then switching to zone when Jeremy's out.

Clearly a fire needs to be lit. The team looks like it lacks the confidence they had earlier in the season. A solid performance and win over a good WVU team on Monday would be a step in the right direction for this team. Hopefully this type of practice similar to the ones leading up to the BET last year will have the same effect.

How about some links to these tweets or Twitter handles of the writers at least?

Thanks

Good.

There are good losses and injury losses and learning losses and fatigue losses and close losses and road losses against a decent team.

Then there's the classic "We stunk out the place against a team with far less talent" kind of losses.

WVU has some decent pieces and is playing well. Huggins is sharp. he knows the team can't dribble the ball in traffic or break a zone and is adjusting to a more competitive playing field (The Big East schedule). UConn team chemistry? Non-existent except for the dunks.

There's a lot of screaming to do over the next 2 months while this team learns respect. Respect for other teams talent, respect for each others talent, respect for the ball, respect for a lead, and respect for their own limitations and how to complement each other.

The part about Shabazz being helped off the court by a trainer, then saying he seemed alright but limited? what does that mean?

JC ought to be careful. Did TV catch JC's gut punches after Daniels called that late timeout?

Respect for how difficult it is to do what they think they can just do so easily because they did it last year.

There is a big difference between a punch trying to hurt somebody and a punch to try to wake somebody up, or get something through their head. I don't think it's a big deal.

It's one of those things that doesn't look good because it's not good. It made me extremely uncomfortable because it's not far from an angry reaction that would make him look very, very bad, because it would be very, very bad, in the national media.

It's quite simple - arguing that he's 70 misses the point. Arguing that it wasn't a real punch misses the point.

Striking a player in any fashion whatsoever is unacceptable, and it will be called out if he makes the mistake of doing it with an open camera shot.

Frankly, I think he got lucky. There was a group of players around and it wasn't obvious from the camera angle what exactly he did.

This is the angriest I've seen Calhoun, and he used to get really angry with Stan. He grabbed Stan by the arm once, and that wasn't cool, but at least an arm grab is not a strike.

I really, very much, definitely, hope that he never loses his cool and whacks a kid - we're several years past the point in history where it will be either overlooked or forgotten.

EDIT - 2:02 and 10 second mark of the ESPN3 broadcast. Looked as bad as I recalled it. But not that bad, because you can't actually see the hand - if it was an open hand, not a huge deal. If a closed fist, not so good.

if you scroll up, i said it looked terrible and was surprised no one else brought it up today... i don't think the fact that he's 70 missed any point.... the reason people didn't make a big deal about it today is because he was 70, not because there was no good camera angle.... if all of us saw it, you know damn well other people saw it... IT WAS OBVIOUS!!!!! i honestly think people didn't make a big deal about it because he's 70, a curmudgeon, and "old school"...

if he were Frank Martin, he'd probably be looking at a suspension

Okay. I'll probably have to say it a few more times over the next month.....but here goes.

You get in the car. You sit in the back seat and you gaze out the window. You let Saint James drive.

You don't bark out directions or question the route. You just sit back there and trust that you arrive at the right spot.

Let's not be a bunch of backseat drivers. Saint James will show us the way.

Calhoun is 6'6", 250.

He hits like he's from T*ampa. DD is lucky to be alive.

(Sigh...t*ampa will show up as Syracuse if you don't screw with the spelling to get past the filter.)

Don't you think it'd be plastered all over ESPN?
