Whats the deal with Djery Baptiste? This dude has an NBA center body right now. Look at the athleticism!! How isn't he rated higher?

This kid's composite rating is 159. #14 in the state of Texas. SMU and Boston College are after him.

I think this kid played for the New England Playaz AAU team. Didn't realize he had a UConn offer until now, he's a bit raw and not all the way there with his basketball coordination because he's only been playing 4 years. The kid is built like Dwight Howard is now, you give Ollie that kid's size and strength and he could mold a diamond, sign me up as being very intrigued.

I love JC as much as the next guy here, but seriously? He was the Brett Favre of college basketball for the last few years of his career. He was and is certainly loyal but "stable" isn't the first word that comes to mind.

True, and don't forget, he was offered other jobs, and kept everyone guessing. I remember South Carolina was one of them. And he has a summer home down there.

I hope KO pays more attention to this player. He looked much better than someone only playing for 4 years. High ceiling.

they hired Rohrssen from Pitt who is taking Antigua's spot. Rohrssen was the lead recruiter on Diallo while at Pitt and has a strong footprint in the NY area, that's really all it is, its not a Seton Hall situation where Calipari is hiring AAU and HS coaches who coached the recruits they are after.

Isn't he affiliated with Mustapha Heron as well?

This reminds me of that top 100 big 5-6 years ago who was down to us and cincy when we despretly needed a big and he ended up signing with cincy when they were log jammed at the 4-5 and never saw a minute on the floor. We ended up winning a ship a couple years later. Idk where he is now. Anyone remember what his name was?

It happened also with Deon Thompson, Alex Stepheson, and Brandan Wright to UNC, with Tyler Hansbrough already there as a freshman. All 3 of them committed to UNC to play PF in the same year. And Ed Davis showed up a year later. UConn recruited all 4 of them, then "settled" for Thabeet.

I like the Stone/Newman combination based upon a very small sample. Good luck to Govan. Georgetown is a great place to go to school.

The infamous John Riek? Last I heard he was playing in some regional mid-western semipro league that plays games in high school gyms.

He went to Mississippi State.

JT's last seven years, he has 3 round of 32s, 2 first round losses and 2 NIT's. The year before that he reached a final 4 with Hilbert and Green who I believe were Esherick's recruits. Gotta give the man props for his salesman skills.

I get what people are saying about Govan being a "below the rim" player, but aren't Elijah Thomas and Diamond Stone both in that camp as well? Both are beefy dudes who are not known as high flyers by any means.

I've never seen Thomas play but Stone is explosive. Definitely not the lumbering type.

Agreed give me baptiste, diallo, sharma. I want the long athletic 5 that can block shots, score in transition, play above the rim. Fits our style better.

Diallo is not gonna happen.
