Hopefully Texas can pull this off, Johnson is carrying them in the 2nd half

Texas with 0 assists and 9 turnovers with 1 minute left in the half. AD needs to punt this goofball Terry the second their season ends with a first round NIT exit.

He may be the worst high major coach in college hoops. That win is going to be value-less by end of SEC play. I wouldn’t be shocked if Texas finishes with 3-4 wins in league play.
I was worried about what Beard could do at Texas after his time at TT. Coulda turned them into a powerhouse with their resources.

Illinois just lost to USC, at home. I don't think Duke will have a big issue with them.
That was also without their best player and a top 10 draft pick, he should be back by the Duke game

Refs are blind in this Texas game. I just watched a Tenn player step about 2 feet out of bounds before he passed it for an open shot.

Texas went too long without getting a touch for Johnson now they're probably cooked

.-.
Man, Buzz Williams is so much older looking than I remember him. That light three piece suit makes him look a bit like Colonel Sanders stomping around on the A&M sideline.

Auburn ended up winning by 5 at Texas. Can someone remind us what UConn ended up winning by at Texas? ;)
#1 (albeit not for long) Tennessee wins by 4 at Texas. Can someone remind us again what UConn ended up winning by at Texas? I keep forgetting. :)

11, but up 20+ much of the game.

Indiana getting absolutely obliterated against Iowa. We’ll see if they can keep it under 30. Woodson is just such a bad coach.

Woodson was a forced hire and now a sitting duck. Most Indiana fans would likely take a tanked season to run him out of town than a bid.

IU is built just like Rutgers. A group of players looking for the next level. No Hoosiers impacting the team. Two IU commits at Uconn

Who are the two? McNeeley is one. I don't know who the second one is.

Team of mercenaries - you need a coach who understand psychology to pull that together. Woodson is an old lazy stooge who is resting on his laurels being an alum and Bobby Knight crony.

Desmond Claude with a game high 31 as USC beats Illinois. Xavier really could've used him this year.

This is the most hype Cincinnati has had in a decade and they still stink.
Hey they scored exactly one point per minute today…..that’s pretty good no??

One and a half more games and they might crack a hundred

He was an Indiana lean. His Dad had strong ties with the Indiana staff. We scooped him up
But he never committed there. Not sure what the argument is. Was the post about UConn having 2 Indiana commits true or false?

I think Mullins even said he was never close to committing to Indiana.

Calipari may have officially lost it - it’s just getting weird in Calamariville these days. It’s safe to say his best years are WELL behind him. His system these days feel remedial. It won’t be long till recruits start figuring it out and then his stock plummets. NIL only goes so far.

How long before Arkansas fans force him out of town like the Kentucky fans did? Feels like their expectations were so high that if he fails they're going to want him out pretty quickly. I for one enjoy watching Calipari fail.

A more forgiving fan base than UK, but my gutt tells me a couple years of this and Cal may just call it a day. This era has lapsed him. He has one mode, bringing in 5 five stars and hoping 2-3 hit as generational, rolling the ball out and saying go. He has no idea what to do in the portal and I get this sense guys coming out of other programs are like wtf is this? The guy is wed to HS recruiting and selling his false bill of goods and the NBA dream and the Cal school of NBA etiquette. It just doesn’t work. He’s done nothing with Johnell Davis and Aidoo, both very productive collegiate players who have regressed under him. It’s almost as if he has a hard time playing kids who he didn’t spend living room time with selling Eskimo ice.

Love it

I can’t even make much of a judgment on the players individually. It’s a system that almost seems to actively seek out the worst lowest-value shots. Even in the games where they put up a reasonable amount of outside shots, they’re generally bad looks because the players have no concept of how to get an open look and Woodson hasn’t prioritized bringing shooters in.

It’s just sad to see such a historic program like this, especially one I have no ill will towards. With their fan base, history, NIL, etc. all they need is a competent coach to turn that thing around quickly.

Yeah, big discussion about him last spring. Can’t remember details but I think consensus was slow not really that athletic, good player, not enough juice for next level??

Wrongo!
No, everybody knew he could play at the next level. He just didn't want to come to UConn, and that's fine. We got Tarris Reed Jr and he's a very good basketball player

Nova needed to do two things against StJ to be competitive, take care of the basketball (ok job) and rebound (awful job). And somehow Ruiz got to the line 20 times in this one. I didn’t see the game but a very weird box. STJ beat them at the line. Not sure if this was yet again more lopsided BE home cooking with refs or just a mismatch they abused.
