2025 Recruiting: Jacob Furphy Commits to UConn!

I know comp haters are gonna hate for obvious reasons but he really does have shades of a slightly smaller Joe Ingles and sign me up for that every day of the week.

When they cut down the nets for the 4-peat they'll call it Jacob's Ladder. And when he rules the court we'll call it Murphy's Law.

How many lefties will the team have next season? I believe he's the 2nd lefty in UConn's 2025 recruiting class, in addition to Reibe. Solo Ball makes 3 if he returns next season. And strangely, Bundalo, who they're no longer recruiting is a lefty. I thought there was another lefty recruit. Am I missing any others? Just such an unusual and bizarre happenstance.

Hurley can send in line changes where he plays the lefties only on the left side of the court and the righties on the right, though that would mess up their motion offense. :)

I'm impressed that he had the foresight to record both his "3 straight championships" and "4 straight championships" marketing videos at a time when he still had only 1 championship. This is a man who plans ahead.
 
Dan Hurley says he recruits shooters and teaches them defense.
I'm thinking he may not go after a 4 in the portal, trusting Abraham and Stewart to cover that.
In case of facing a double big lineup, Riebe can play the 4, at least half the game.That leaves:

1-2 Nowell,Mahaney, Adams
2-3 Ross, Mullins, Furphy
I'd pay to attend scrimages.

Saw that too. The SG/SF position are so similar it feels almost bizarre to say it. I'm assuming it came from the coaches.

Probably just means he isn't a PG, but I think that was obvious. He'd do better defending the 3 on defense, most importantly.

Have seen in articles that he has been listed as both SG and SF-as you have mentioned. Who knows-at 17-Is he even done growing yet? I will be interested in seeing what kind of impact our SnC Program/conditioning regiment will have on Furphy throughout his UConn career. He's a baller.
