You and your bad links.
New Summer Mixtape
I was watching a game from 99 on uconnhuskygames.com and they mentioned that KEA had his baby son Ishmael's name written on his sneakers. Talk about full circle
One thing's for sure about him.. He fills it up like his daddy did for us... He's a scorer plain and simple.. but he's a shooter first.. the kind of perimeter threat we need.
Question is...is he good enough to play at a school like UConn and challenge Gilbert/Adams for minutes?
That is a good point. It's always a catch-22. If you're a program that has recruited to 20, 50 or whatever level recruits at a given position, it's a challenge to add another recruit at that same position of that similar level since they know they will be battling them for PT. This applies to recruits within the same class and ones that worry about upperclassmen that might still be around while they burn through some of their eligibility. This becomes quite problematic with the 1-and-done and even 2-and-done type recruits. Yeah, I know many come in thinking they're one of those, but end up staying longer, but the fact is many have that mindset while being recruited. If Adams is even on the team by then. We're going to need some more guards, and they're not all going to be top-50 guys.

I'd rather have Ish than Tremont Waters.
Not a huge fan of waters, but i doubt KO targets a 3 * and not MAL or other top 100 guards within 2017.I'd rather have Ish than Tremont Waters.
Gotta save a couple of spots for walkons!Latest #s: Consensus 3-star recruit, ranked anywhere from 150-190 or so (same range Cassell Jr. was). He has offers from DePaul, Texas Tech and Nevada according to VerbalCommits.

Obviously things can change, but the more I look at this the more I think we'll get MAL and call it a day on PGs for 2017. Jalen might be good enough to go to the NBA after that season (his junior year), but even so we'll have Alterique & MAL coming up, and there's a reason we're recruiting Ayala (2018 PG from Putnam Science) so hard.
EDIT: And to a little more clear... I suspect that by 2017-18, Hamilton will be gone, which leaves us with five spots. However, I also suspect that we're going to get MAL and Diallo, which will make our depth chart this:
PG: Adams, Alterique, MAL
SG: Diallo
SF: Larrier, Jackson
PF: Durham, Diarra
C: Enoch, Brown
So my guess for '17 is we end up going after either a pure SG or a big combo guard to back up/compete with Diallo, and quite possibly another big.
If I were KEA I'd ask for a paternity test. Ishmael can dunk. He's got some speed and explosiveness. It also looks like some of those threes were from very deep.
Release looks a little low and while his handle looks good, it doesn't look as tight as some other top guards. That can be deceiving though, so performance against great competition will be the best barometer. I certainly hope KO believes in him and brings him in. I love the El Amin attitude.
