Is University of New Haven Going To Go FCS?

Having a Middle Eastern Sugar Daddy surely helps…
Which make this story even funnier since the “other” football is what is popular in the Middle East or for that matter anywhere outside USA.

most FCS teams provide 63 football scholarships. In addition due to title IX, New Haven will also then have to provide equal number of scholarships for women sports.
Division 2 football allows for 36 scholarships vs 63 in FCS or an increase of 27 scholarships so it's not really a big financial change, especially because they are probably providing need based scholarships for a number of athletes already. And, there are only 8 D2 schools in New England/NY/NJ vs 24 FCS schools which will help open up the schedule to better local opponents.

This is an another head scratcher. There is absolutely no money to be made at the FCS level. Is this perhaps a way to try and get buy games? Can see it now. New Haven football at the shoe.
Not saying it's a good or bad move, but I think UNH had to move up in football (or shut the team down) if they wanted to move up in basketball.

Good points.
