Is Georgetown a trap game?

Plenty of rest, and Georgetown is truly awful. I think we'll do fine. Maybe a bit flat, but we can be flat and beat them.

has all the makings
Disagree. Now DePaul on senior night before the BET definitely does. I think we underestimate how truly awful you have to be to be 0-17 in conference. I don’t think Creighton is such a big game that we’ll look ahead to it. We’ll be GTown if we show up with our C- game

At this point in the season I can't see how any these few remaining games can be a trap game. We should be prepared for all the games looking forward. Yes, Nova was a tough one but we need to build on that with no let downs we should be pumped for these games going into the BE tournament.

Thankfully we can beat them at 42%

Georgetown isn't good enough to be a trap game.

If it was Depaul or Butler, maybe.
That's the point. The opponent is never seemingly good enough to win. That is what makes it a trap game.

Coming off that big win and our nemesis on the horizon - feels like it has the potential to be one. Hopefully the boys don’t come out flat and are able put this one to rest early.

Nestled between Villanova and Creighton. A team we handled easily in the first meeting. Custom designed or the Huskies, they play man to man defense at a pace is similar to ours. This is a game that is easy to look past.

But it is a road test for he Huskies and a conference foe.
I am going to this game with the expectation that we will win. BTW, I have a great seat. Lol

Basically the definition of one. I think Hurley has the guys ready and not full of themselves after a big win.

I probably take Georgetown to cover +15 (or whatever) though.
Since you "hammered" Nova ML, this is a great sign for UConn

Hurley's take.

“I’m going to brutalize these guys the next couple of days in practice ... They’re swimming in dopamine right now on social media.”

There's a difference between seems not good enough to win but actually is vs. just absolutely isn't good enough to win. This is the latter.
I’ve seen Georgetown play a lot of good teams close. I’d say it’s a legit trap game.
Big East average scoring margin for them is -13. Median is -11 points. 5 of their losses came by single digits, 10 by double digits. Only came within 5 points once so far in Big East play (against Butler).

Our scoring margin in conference play is +5. So we've been roughly 18 points better than them per game this year. We beat them by 23 earlier at home and beat them by double figures twice last year when they had a much better team. Just like we have a tough matchup with 5-out offenses, we're a bad matchup for GTown, because they can't finish and we force teams to shoot inside the arc.

This is the single most important game of the season, today. Focus and take care of business. Huskies don't stop to smell roses in the middle of winter when they're hauling the sled at full speed.

Some can lump it. No
affect mojo cuz no think
it affect mojo.
It's your perfect right
Some here think differ-ently
I'm just holding (the) space

As to trap game, hmm
"Not 'No';" gotta be prepared
Haiku potential too

There’s no easy games. Have to focus, not look behind to the Villanova win and not look ahead to Creighton

Lodged between two games that are circled on their collective calendars (revenge game in Omaha coming next). The very definition of a trap game.

this is trap game plain and simple. Will UConn lose? I don't think so, but when determining what is a trap game, it's based on potential and circumstances.

Hurley will have to rip into them and be tough on them at practice because the players will be on an emotional sugar high after beating Nova in front of that raucous crowd- and they should be on that emotional sugar high.

It's what Pitino stated in an interview he does. If his team is playing great and on a winning streak, he is very tough on them to prevent the players from being full of themselves. If the team is on a losing streak, he won't be too tough on them and will be easier on them on a psychological level to build up their damaged confidence.

The one thing in our favor of overcoming the trap game is that GTown is 0-whatever in the BE and 6-20 overall. UConn doesn't want to be the first team to lose to a winless GTown.

This is the exact definition of a trap game... UConn coming off a massive win with the game after Georgetown being a big revenge road game. Usually in betting i'd look to fade UConn in this exact spot. The only difference is I feel like Hurley's teams do not overlook any opponent. I think they understand how important winning these next 3 is.
Assuming we pull off Saturday with a win is it safe to think we bump up 3-4 spots after a very good and clean top 10 win? With that said is it possible to break the top 10 if we win out?

Fwiw, GTown has looked a little better as of late. Games are getting closer. Up on DePaul right now late.

This GTown game is absolutely painful. They may win it, but it's hard to watch. They are just bad. Ewing standing around just chewing gum and looking clueless for most of the game. They're at home, and it looks like a Tulane crowd - I doubt there are 1,000 people there. Maybe because the start time was too early, or too late? I really hope they find their way back to Hoya prominance.
