Last years team was good but had a lot of questions. This years team has a lot of answers.Again, quality depth. It doesn't matter who is on the floor they get it done.
Diarra coming in and running the offense with Hawk and Newton on the bench with fouls.
Joey comes in and sparks a run. Yea he got torched a couple of times but he should have had some help and makes up for it in other ways.
Clingan comes in with Sanogo in foul trouble and struggling some and changes the game.
Andre was just straight obscene. His passing, rebounding and defense were absurd and he polished that up by scoring as well.
All this against a great defensive team pressuring them hard the entire game.
There is a lot of games left and much will happen that we don't like.
There is also a lot to like here early.
Big time prospect in the class of 2037.Who is the 7-foot blonde 8-year-old next to Adama?
Problably a recruit. Seems like they start the process earlier and earlier each year. #41 looks way to fired up for someone who sat all game lol!Who is the 7-foot blonde 8-year-old next to Adama?
5-Star outta Kinda-Care Minneapolis. Sven "Bam-Bam" JorgensenWho is the 7-foot blonde 8-year-old next to Adama?
Sanogo will be fine. He had an off night. Humans do that sometimes.I hope Adama is having fun. He’s the pre-season Big East player of the year, but is being challenged for minutes by a freshman. It’s a great problem for us to have as a team, but I hope Adama can adjust to the role. Have we ever had two dominant big men on the same team?

They were super physical up top with bumps and hacks and grabs. A lot that could have been called but these refs ended up calling stuff they could have let go. A really strange game by the officials. They called softies while letting guys get mugged.I wish we had a really special ballhandler. We seemed to get caught in a lot of traps. A lot of weird passes.
He’s vital with Samson out and Springs not ready for prime time, although I might have tried him tonight. Was just looking at some stats, wow I didn't realize Karaban was in for 38mins tonight! Kid has some stamina.
I'm putting you down for YES. So good we give credit for losing by triple the spread.Dumb. The point is our offense looked ugly relative to the way it has previously because Iowa State makes you look that way. Unless you thought the backcourt violations looked cool.
And we still won by 18 because we have a ton of weapons.
Yeah he had to play the whole game because Jackson had to play the 3 pretty much full-time, because Hawkins was mostly not available and Alleyne was a liability. And this was a game where Karaban couldn't really get hurt on D because their 4s weren't threats or overwhelmingly athletic. Was just looking at some stats, wow I didn't realize Karaban was in for 38mins tonight! Kid has some stamina.
Wowee-zowee.Bench outscored starters 40-31…wow
4 fouls 20 seconds into the 2nd half.Tuned in late. Why didn’t hawk play in the last 13 min?
You got a freakin steal. Was in Vegas last weekend and managed to get UConn NCAA Tourney Champs at 60/1. Don't think we'll see odds that long for UConn for another couple of years.
Shows too that Hurley can coach big men as well. Hopefully UConn becomes a destination for centers.Hopefully he is here 2 years at least. He is a special big man! WOW!
Every good UConn team has its walk on hype man!!Problably a recruit. Seems like they start the process earlier and earlier each year. #41 looks way to fired up for someone who sat all game lol!
Donovan's dad was on UConn twitter spaces last night said he and Joey C spend almost every minute together off the court. Could have something to do with how comfortable they are playing with each other!Joey is going to eat into Alleyne's minutes. Joey got burned for back to back layups in the first half but he competed like crazy on D in the second and was mixing it up for rebounds. He just brings a lot more offense and energy than Alleyne has this season and he seems to have really good synergy with Donovan.
The most absurd stat for this UConn team is that Joey leads the team in the 2-point field goal percentage. He is shooting 75% from two!!! Higher than Donovan! He has had some really sick finishes through traffic, full speed and high off the glass. Obviously he is also obscenely efficient from 3 to start the season.Joey is going to eat into Alleyne's minutes.
