Fishy always dreamed of a site where you could post c*cks*sker unedited. I'm disappointed he has not found it yet.

Worse than that -- he had and lost it. Any veteran of Profanity Fridays (JeffG's Mom, RIP) knows that "c*cks*k*r" was mere prologue.

Good to hear. What did they do to you? Meds? Stent? graft?

Beak, I'm going out on a limb to say that you ignoring my Peter Griffin comment means you might actually be a little "strokey". I want you to know, I don't love you any less if you are. I'll just make sure I'm the one that drives if we go out to dinner sometime soon.

Hugs and kisses,
Deepster

For a few shining moments, this was it,...sigh.

Me to wife after the incident: You know, I guess that would explain why I kept drifting to the left on the drive home.

For the record, I am the worlds worst patient. This thing happened over Easter weekend so they had to keep me in the hospital until the real doctors came in on Monday. I was under orders not to leave the bed, and if I had to use the restroom I was supposed to buzz a nurse to help me. Well, there are some things a man just needs to do on his own, and peeing is one of those things. They had to put a bed alarm on me, so every time I got out of bed it would buzz the nurses station.

I went through the whole gambit of therapy. Speech therapy was kinda fun, as they administered lots of tests to see how the brain was functioning (cue "what brain" comments). One of the questions they asked me was to name as many states as I could in 30 seconds. I got 48 of them by concentrating on the major conferences and the states they had teams in, and filling in the bunnies (Alaska, Hawaii, etc) along the way. Try it.

I did. Worked pretty well. Got 49.
Only missed Connecticut.

After taking a bit of time to digest your representations that you merely suffered a debilitating stroke, and were, therefore off of the interwebs for a period of time....

How can I be certain that you are not, actually, dead....still dead....or, at least "undead" as it were?

What proofs do we have that you are not, indeed, the harbinger of the "Zombie Beak-pocolypse"?

To be fair, I did post yesterday before the KU-DOOK game. DogBreath2U was kind enough to send me a pm pointing out my obituary post. So are all the regulars still around? Fishy? Suzyq?
Present, glad to hear you are doing better. My husband had an occular stroke, so I have a bit of an idea what you and your family have been through. You must have been sending vibes our way for prankster to declare you dead. I thought you had become tired of us.

Suzy, darlin, how could I ever become tired of you? Hope Mr. Suzyq is doing well. I actually had my yearly Neurologist appt. today, and she said that my left side (the side impacted) is much stronger than it was a year ago. I was not sending prankster vibes, he was just being a jackass.

You are being horribly unfair to me....

1. I had you honorably chewed up and pooped out by some shark along the Florida coast.....not unceremoniously laid low by a leaky vascular system...

2. Could there possibly have been a more fitting memorial/sendoff than the tv debut of Sharknado?

3. I'm still a bit creaped out that I am having this argument with a zombie.

This thread is totally wrong. I hate stuff like this. Joking about anyone's health is just plain wrong. It's only funny, until you or someone in your family is really sick. which is sad... then it comes back to bite you, you know where. Personal or family health is off limits in my book. Get well Beakumhawks. Let's all be adults when it comes to health & family....

The profanity filter is updated every 90 seconds and contains entries in 231 different languages. Sometimes I think I've had a stroke, but it's just filter f--ing with the language.

I will be free. I will.

Sorry about the stroke, glad you're up and running again even if it's currently at 95% - I imagine if you lose a few more percent, they'll ask you to move to Missouri.

Good to have you back.

Eh, worrying about things you can't control? I bet you're the first of us to go.

Bear, I have some serious stuff going on health related with family at this time and know how serious it can be, but if you weren't around during the Beakumhawks period of The Boneyard, you might not have a context for the ribbing. Beak was unique and was essentially adopted as one of us despite his unfortunate accident of birth in being a KU fan. This is a reunion and a celebration of the return of the Beak and not a time for solemnity. Plus, KU was a bunch of chokers who couldn't win the big one (for the most part) until they had the good fortune to have Roy leave and go to UNC.

You need to understand that I have a history with these bozos, and to be honest I would be insulted if the replies were any different.

Essentially we've got two options; (1) let him back in the game and continue making fun wherever possible or (2) pillow over the head, rip up a giant countertop with torture devices on top and throw it out the window, then start running as far from the 'yard as possible and never look back
