But it reset to 30 seconds first then flipped to 20 seconds with all that going on it becomes almost impossible to get it down to the tenth of a second. I think it just fell under there was so much wrong with the clock operation they did not have enough evidence to overturn the call.

Not sure that clock operator keeps their job after that. Even though it was a dagger we would have still been up 7 points with 1:17 left. We can do the math on that and it would probably say we win the game more than 95% of the time.
That’s why you look at the game clock. 20 seconds had not elapsed since the offensive rebound.

I think the first half flow of the game played to our strengths today. Very few whistles the first 10 minutes which either got us out in the open after a defensive rebound or got us set up to run offense sets, which were efficient in getting open threes, a Solo drive and pop and great movement in general. Nice to have a double digit lead at the break against a top team.

Reed doesn’t strike me as the kind of kid that can tough out some pain. His body language was lousy today. Reibe was the better player when in.

That cut by Ross for the easy dump down is exactly the kind of headsy plays we need out of that role. These are the kind of things Stew doesn’t do.

This is in the pantheon of stupidest things ever seen on the 'yard.

The Fox postgame was odd...all of them basically trashing the good guys saying how ugly a win it was, and then declaring it was completely out of character for Illini to play how they did. If I didn't catch the end of the game and saw it, I'd think they won
Completely agree. They kept harping on the 2nd half. But you know what? UConn still outscored Illinois 31-29 in the 2nd half so not exactly terrible.

What in the world

We have to stop holding the ball forever when we're up 10+ with 10 minutes to go. All of our worst play has come from 10:00-2:00 left in the game. It was fine in 23/24 because those guys had crazy killer instincts and would find a bucket on their own. But that's a huge luxury and not something you can count on reliably.
That offense worked so well that year because the trigger man was the same guy from the year before and you had key guys who had run it the year before. They knew the offense so well. It’s all new for everyone but Alex.

I will try to explain it one more time. We got an offensive rebound as the clock went from 2:30 to 2:29. The foul and shot happened at 2:10. Math says that the shot clock would not have expired if it wasn’t reset. Shot counts. Correct call.
I understand what you’re saying, and it isn’t true: Reibe has the ball in two hands with 2:32 on the game clock and a reset shot clock. Either way, it’s beside the point. The explanation given for the ruling was this: “So apparently, the prior shot, which did hit the rim (okay)… clock reset to 20, but, that last flail was within the original 30” … that is nonsense.

Mullins was a bit rough on D in the first half and didn’t like the touch fouls from us (Reed’s 4th was incredibly frustrating). Didn’t like letting Illinois back in like BYU. Good win, rest up for KU.

Why do you care.

I noticed that 30 flip to 20 throughout the broadcast. That’s just another weird and unacceptable aspect of the whole situation.

7 rebounds and 2 blocks for Reibe. 4 offensive rebounds.

Growing up before our eyes and is a big silver lining for Reed being out.
Impressive presence on both boards, altered shots and turned away several others. He is a near polished gemstone from Australia. Two of our backups, Rebie and Smith can play with the best. Almost all of our offensive was within our playbook while Ill was a lot of one on one and long missed 3 pointers.

This game was like playing against an experienced pro level European team that shot foul shots very well to keep them within distance of UConn. This was an important win against a big dominate rebounding team from Europe. We out rebounded them with great efforts by our team.

Why don’t you? It didn’t cost Illinois the game and it’s great that it worked out in our favor but it wasn’t right. You know as well as I do that if the roles were reversed the Boneyard would be rioting. It just wasn’t right.
Because I’m a UConn fan and we won.

There is a contingent here that aren’t actual UConn fans. I’m convinced

God forbid this play happened with Illinois shooting and they said shot counted. Refs would have been crucified on here. We do win anyway even if that basket didn't count. Reibe was great and they need to find a way to give Smith minutes even when Demary is not in foul trouble.

Great to see AK doing the dirty work on the boards/Blocks/D vs the Big Boys.. Malachi showing some onions and poise at MSG. Reibe just getting started. Bench took care of business today.

Danny still figuring out rotations with minute restrictions/injuries and new guys. Important MSG Quad 1 W.

Let's bring the same energy/hustle to Kansas.
