Why?
The choices are playing in a all sports league that likely includes
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State
Okla State
Baylor
Houston
TT
TCU
SMU
Cinncy
WVA
BYU
Memphis
one of the Fla schools
Seems like a no brainer
That league most likely ends up with a TV deal in the range of $15-20million .
Or play in a East Coast mostly private school Conference with schools in Kansas’s case you have no history .
Loosing Texas and Okal hurt the football brand hard but that’s still
a top 2-4 Basketball conference.
ESPN is the real winner .
Enhance you flagship conference the SEC
Give a slight Haircut to the B12 schools and rip up the billion dollar AAC contract while still retaining its best content. Almost like ESPN encouraged the SEC to take Texas and Oklahoma .

I believe CBS Sports did a study and found that the 8 remaining schools were worth 9 million per team per year for all sports.

Absolutely not. They are a mid-major school.
1. Butler and Xavier both came from the A10
2. Yes, the A10 is a mid major, but it’s still a good conference
3. Wouldn’t go out of the way to add Dayton. Just saying if they are ever looking to expand that could be an option.

I don’t think the BE will add anyone unless a school like Kansas comes along. Sort of like how they weren’t actively looking to add when UConn came along

Kansas is the only logical choice right now. No one else makes sense

Would y’all take WVU if Kansas said we had to in order to get them?

You reach a point where all the best choices from a conference have already been taken.

Your use of the return key is a war crime.

Someone combining 2 leagues that are worth 7mm/program magically becomes worth 15-20m/program? Boneyard math at its finest.

Thought exercise
I mean, anything is possible. You have to make them earn it to leave since together they're even bigger flight risks. $100mm exit fee for the first 8 years might do it.

True. There are still some good ones like St. louis/Richmond among others. But nothing from the A10 as it stands is going to be a huge brand name school. So I agree there.

Tough to add the big brand schools because most of them are going to center athletics around football and/or not make sense geographically. I think the only one that makes sense to add at the moment is Kansas, but i’m not sure Kansas would go for that to be honest.

this whole thing is beyond any reality
but those who think WVU hoops is not worthy are crazy, not saying I would think they are a good fit, but thinking they are inferior to most/any of the current NBE teams is BS

The Catholics would rather disband before bringing WVU back. Kansas is a no brainer yes. f Gonzaga
FWIW, I’d take them in a heartbeat. It’s not like the BE outside of 4/5 schools is particularly elite in academics.

The Mountaineer fans I’ve interacted with have all been pretty awesome, but I grew up in a similarly rural state.

I asked him once why he writes like that. He answered honestly. I still didn't understand it but he had his reasons.

If the answer was “Kindle Fire”, I would not be surprised.

I read all his posts in Rodney’s voice. Helps a little.

I'd be very afraid of Gonzaga imploding once they join a real conference. Or at least once Few retires.
