IN the 4th photo, Jana walls off the defender to create a lane to the hoop for KK. When Jana boxes you out, you stay boxed out.
Instagram just keeps hanging on. Guess I'll have to register. My Facebook will not open it for whatever reason.
At least some of this film you've seen Don't know if this is a new CT content maker.
I saw a video somewhere of a coaching session but can’t find it now. In it Geno tells the team that they can only do one of three things when they get the ball: shoot pass or drive. No dithering, no faking, just decisiveness. Later in the video, in a scrimmage Ash gets the ball and tries a few fakes to get past a defender and loses her opportunity. Then Geno takes her aside and asks what the three things are and she replies: shoot pass drive. Then he asks what all the faking was and she replies: “nonsense.” He approves and sends her back into the scrimmage.
It’s interesting how much focus is on decision making, or the read and react offense. The central skill is mental not physical. Having a good handle or a quick release is great of course. But that’s not the primary emphasis of Geno’s coaching. It’s knowing where to be on defense and what to do with the ball on offense.
All looking so good. Great to see Jana flying throught the lane. Greatness...
I love seeing all of this content from Morgan. I can't wait to see her on the court in a live game. She was such a dynamic presence in HS. With her we'll have a 4th ball handler who really knows how to push pace. She's such an aggressive player.
here's to hoping that hamstring issue goes away by August when they come back for conditioning.I love seeing all of this content from Morgan. I can't wait to see her on the court in a live game. She used to do a thing that Paige also does a lot these days. She pushes the transition, makes the long pass, and then follows along to clean up any misses. Ash also knows to do this. You follow the break not only because you're waiting for a pass, but also because you're there to support the person who goes to the rim.
I didn’t see her in the video in any of the plays. Did you see her anywhere other than the high fives at the end?It looked to me like Cheli was in there practicing, which is a good sign.
Wasn't she the one who took the last jump shot from the left elbow?I didn’t see her in the video in any of the plays. Did you see her anywhere other than the high fives at the end?
That was Allie I think. The one Q passed the ball to.Wasn't she the one who took the last jump shot from the left elbow?
I thought she shot from the coener toward the middle of the clip, but it was difficult to see who it was.I didn’t see her in the video in any of the plays. Did you see her anywhere other than the high fives at the end?

I agree, NOT Morgan, but ALLIE ZIEBELL.That was Allie I think. The one Q passed the ball to.
For real, Morgan was a finalist for the HS NPOTY award and they ranked her at 18.UConn has two new aggressive scorers in Kaitlyn and Ally. And two new score from anywhere, pass from anywhere, fast break any chance you get, and control the game players in Sarah and Morgan.
Kaitlyn looks to be all that was advertised: good ballhandling, high IQ, good teammate, do anything to win, aggressive scorer, etc.
Ally: was highly ranked for a reason: she was always one of the most efficiently ranked scorers, highly competent 3-level scorer, 3-point sharp shooter, loves to drive to the rim with contact and get to the line, etc.
Sarah: #1ranked player for a very good reason: 3-level scoring, good defense, can play 1-5 on offense and willing to play wherever to help the team, very unselfish- but knows when the game is on the line and when to take over, good ballhandling, good passing, very good vision, very high IQ, highly fundamental (both parents played and was coached by her dad), soft spoken off the court but very aggressive on the court, she wants to be great, so many more things that could be said.
Morgan: in my opinion she was underranked: very unselfish, good ballhandling, court vision, high IQ, good passing, 3-level scorer if needed, leader of the #1 ranked HS team that beat many top 10 and top 25 teams - went undefeated until the final game in which she came in with the hamstring injury that she currently has and didn't have her normal mobility, 6'2" pg, etc.
Adding these four players to the players that UConn already has adds some major firepower to the team. I know that the freshmen haven't played college bball yet, but I expect Sarah to contribute early on and expect the other two to contribute varying amounts depending on the returns (timing and level) of the injured players. I expect Kaitlyn to contribute to early on as well.
She was also voted Naismith first team All-American. Only 5 players on that team, including Sarah. For real, Morgan was a finalist for the HS NPOTY award and they ranked her at 18.
I also include " COURT GENERALSHIP" in my view of Ms. Morgan Cheli. We haven’t seen much of Sarah and Morgan this summer, so we’re all eager. Who can blame us? Sarah may be the more complete player especially on the offensive side. But they both share defensive intensity and often led each of their HS team’s press. Morgan relied on speed and aggressive play. Sarah relies on quick hands. She picks the pockets of quicker guards because she doesn’t react to fakes. She simply focuses on the ball and grabs it with her big hands.
