I remember when Matt pitched for UConn. I used to stand behind the backstop at the old field watching pitchers like Matt. The scouts would be there with their radar guns. Even Theo Epstein made it there.
It was great to watch Matt with the Sox and I loved when announcers talked about Matt playing at UConn with George, Best of luck and success to Matt’s new endeavors.
Great for PJ and I always root for our guys, but the three "batters" he faced were batting .059, .159 and .226. Beeter was the star pitcher IMO. Made Horwitz and Reynolds look stupid.
Not to mention, there shouldn't have been a win. Pirates had that game tied until the tying run executed one of the worst slides of the year.
