You and your "the last 4 years" thing are sickening. 20-15 wasn't great but neither was the team and 25-11 3 years ago? Talk to me about the 25-11...if a new coach comes in and gets to 25-11 and wins a tourney game in year 2 or 3 do we fire him or are going to expect miracles on the poor guy immediately?

This is a 2 year ordeal we're dealing with quit trying to stretch this to mare than what it is. You must be really spoiled, we all are to a point of course, but adding a 25-11 year to 2 horrible seasons is ridiculous.
We have a tournament win and a league title in that four year window.

Go to a five year window and we have a natty.

2015-2016 was a major disappointment. We underachieved horribly. Most talented roster in the AAC and we finished 6th

You guys are a major disappointment as you just kick and kick.

That wasn't that great of a team, sorry they won the conference tournament and beat a solid Colorado team. As I said spoiled will always be I feel for the new coach if he can't get it going right away.

We were ranked 20 preseason, which projects as a 5-6 seed.
We were a 9 should've been higher but then beat the 8 anyway.
Underachieve? Slightly. Nowhere near the hysterics you and bass throw at it though.

Preseason #2 in the conference and finished 6th. It was bad. We didn't start winning games until Ollie forced the guards to feed Miller

Here's the last 4 years:

NIT: knocked out in first round
NCAA Tourney: 1 win
No Postseason
No Postseason

Collectively, that sucks. Period. And if you were being objective you would agree. Fortunately, a good coach can get the program relevant again within 2 to 3 years.

Here at the Boneyard, we fit our facts to match our narratives. ;)

In terms of when we hear anything about Hurley, I've gotta believe that the hang up at this point has much less to do with his wife and much more to do with the legal interpretation of whether we can hire him while Ollie is on "paid suspension".

Maybe some of the Boneyard lawyers can weigh in here. I hope that determination doesn't drag on, because the more time we lose, the larger the chance we miss on our targeted coach and the larger the chance we lose out on recruits...

Stop with his wife as an obstacle. If we double his salary she won’t be an obstacle.
Not every one is about the money. God forbid that her kids and family might be more important

you realize four years is used very frequently in college sports because it's a full recruiting cycle, right?

You realize that I knew you'd be the first one to comment on my post and that it wouldn't involve the legal question, right? ;)

"Insider info" from a PC fan on the URI board:

"I just found out from someone I trust that UConn met with a Division 1 head coach about their opening within the past 72 hours. Obviously it wasn't Dan Hurley.

I have no idea how serious the conversation was, but if Hurley to UConn was a done deal as those on the Boneyard would like you to believe, this meeting would not have happened."

That's why JC went to South Carolina when they offered double the salary he was making at UConn. Oh wait! Something other than money made him remain.

I'm with @Towney007 on this one. If Hurley is as good as some think he is I'm conflicted over this hire. Loyalty to a university and a program has given me two and a half additional NC's. It could only be out of pure selfishness on my part that I would want a coach to abandon his university, players and fans.

Where can I find this info what is the site u found it on?

Now this is getting ridiculous. A PC fan on the URI board sharing what a source told him about UCONN interviewing someone within the past 72hrs?! Who cares? It's either false or if true, it's a good thing. It means we have a backup plan or are considering other candidates.

.-.
Not sure I care anymore. Just want a decision so we can sort out the roster, and begin building excitement for next year. There are several guys I’d be ok with.

The last 2 suck the other are fine after a national championship which you would never bother mentioning. But stay with what fits your agenda it’s cute.

Getting knocked out of the NIT in the first round isn't fine for a program of UConn's caliber and neither is 1 total postseason win in 4 seasons. Even you should realize that.

He 1,000% is content with both his money and the program there and *really, really, really* believes he can make it a national power. Being the hot shot isn't his thing.

If that's the case, why would he even entertain the idea? What are his motivations?

She's done it before though. They were driving to a new job with Pitt, and she had him turn the car around and go back to Jersey. Didn't want to leave her mom alone.

Yes, I understand the money and situation were different, but the moving up in the world was the same thing.

And the other 3 seasons with no postseason wins, what about those?

If true, I'm glad. We better be kicking tires until there' a signature on the dotted line.

I heard the wife is a little apprehensive, but there's *legit* rumors Hurley won't leave URI unless it's like something monumental. He 1,000% is content with both his money and the program there and *really, really, really* believes he can make it a national power. Being the hot shot isn't his thing.

Which honest to god - that's a good thing. It's weirdly relieving for me in a lot of ways. If he doesn't come here and stays there, then god bless the guy. Wish there were more dudes like him in college hoops. A guy like him built us, I couldn't ever comprehend being angry and upset if he decided to stay there and shove it up everyone's A to see if it could be done.

And if he comes here, we're getting a guy who wants to be *here*.
One of the things that is attractive about the UConn job is that it isn't a transitional job. There are relatively few programs for which you'd leave UConn. The facilities are top notch, in a good recruiting ground, for a top twenty public with a great tradition and a rapid fanbase, if you are successful. Add in a big raise and it is hard to walk away from the opportunity.
