I’m hoping to start a thread that will surpass the pizza thread with stories that will make us laugh or cry.
Let’s face it, pizza is just dough, sauce and toppings and look at the number of posts.
I’m organizing my disasters and will later post.

I had perpetual ground yellowjackets. Every year, I would forget that they were there, run over their nest with my mower, and get stung 492829 times. That house is gone due to life's throat punch, and I miss that house immensely, but I do not miss those freaking bees.

It’s relative. Looked at a few houses on Cape Cod Saturday, for some my comments were “too many trees”, “too hilly”, “too much land”. Having an acre in an oak forest on a hill has colored my view. I want the easy button now. Something you can mow with a normal 21” mower.

As for gripes, irrigation isn’t sturdy enough. It’s too prone to damage. Oak leaves have way too long a half life. They break down way too slowly and fall too late in the year. Landscapers use heavy mowers that damage the grass, especially when it is wet. Overall, maintenance is just too high. Fertilizer, grub treatment, lime, core aeration, fall cleanup, spring cleanup.

It’s relative. Looked at a few houses on Cape Cod Saturday, for some my comments were “too many trees”, “too hilly”, “too much land”. Having an acre in an oak forest on a hill has colored my view. I want the easy button now. Something you can mow with a normal 21” mower.

As for gripes, irrigation isn’t sturdy enough. It’s too prone to damage. Oak leaves have way too long a half life. They break down way too slowly and fall too late in the year. Landscapers use heavy mowers that damage the grass, especially when it is wet. Overall, maintenance is just too high. Fertilizer, grub treatment, lime, core aeration, fall cleanup, spring cleanup.

Don’t forget dethatching.

Never said Costco pizza was best, just said that for the price of $10 a pie it was a better value than the $30 and up ripoff “famous name” pizzas that are being sold and against some of them actually held up well. BTW, for fun I just “designed” a New Haven Pepis large pizza . $48.

Japanese Knotweed. Oriental Bittersweet. Fireweed. Grapevine. Crabgrass. My lawn tractor broke and I don't enjoy mowing. I need windows replaced. My oil man is retiring and I don't want to have to call around for someone new. I disconnected my basement sink 3 years ago and haven't installed the new one yet. Maybe I'll add more later.

In where, the sink? I put the humidifier high enough so it drains into the sink. No need to manually empty twice a day.

The new mowers my landscaper uses are too heavy and too fast, leaving clumps of grass when it's wet. When the grass is dry, the mowers are moving so fast they just push the grass over.

Put down lime in the fall. Makes a huge difference.

I had those same lovely creatures and they did the same thing. I found the solution. A foam spray that is applied at sunrise and/or sunset. (We attack at dawn/sunset) When I sprayed the foam into and around the hole at sunset you would see them return like Stuka bombers. They would hover over the foam and then instinct would get the better of them and they would crash into the foam to go back to their base camp. And yes, they brought the foam poison right in the front door with them. End of problem. Really nasty little bastards. They did not bring the best out in me. I actually enjoyed going to the hardware store to buy the foam insecticide.

Yep, that's what I would do after Stingmageddon would occur, and it would be fine for the rest of the season. But then they would return, and since it was in an awkward place in the yard and the grass was higher for the first cut, I wouldn't notice they were back until the next season's assault. This happened for four years. I know, I'm an idiot for just assuming they were gone. But still.

People that stop with their dog and let them piss and leave a yellow patch. Good news is with Ring and in a circle condo complex I’ve caught a couple. It won’t happen again at least not with their mutts.
