OT: Hot Dog recipes, bought too many

I'm too lazy to look back and I assumed it was mentioned, but my mom used to do hot dogs inside of those Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Heaven.

Also, one year I requested my wife's homemade mac and cheese mixed with sliced hot dogs for my birthday dinner.
Stay well!

My dad had some crazy ideas. One of them was to cut some hotdogs in the shape of Lincoln logs and build a hot dog house.
Well it didn’t quite work out and we all ate hot dogs with chunks cut out of them for months.
I know it didn’t answer your question but it brought up that memory.
Oh.. my mom used hot diced for fried rice. Like others are saying tastes kinda like sausage and was pretty good.

This thread reminded me that Woody's closed and now I'm sad.

When visiting grandparents in northern Adirondacks Michigans were the shizz.

There used to he a truck off Exit 30 of the Northway that sold Michigan’s.

Probably the best in the North Country is Croghan Bologna from either Eddie’s in Harrisville or Croghan Market in Croghan.

Miller’s on Number 4 Road in Lowville has maybe the best jerky (beef, pork and venison) and maple bacon you’ll ever have. Their donuts may be the best I’ve had - cake donut and i was very surprised how good it was.

My 5 yo granddaughter suggested to my daughter that they get take out from the most expensive seafood restaurant in their town. When they asked what she wanted... a hotdog.
Only the finest tube steak for your granddaughter I see.

They actually call it that in places and times. I don’t think it was meant dirty at all.
The only context I've ever heard it with Is the dirty one.

And you have to admit, his turn of phrase can be very easily misconstrued.

You hung around the wrong people.

My first experience with the term was when we bought the hot dogs they served at the 7-11 back in the 70s.

Come to think of it maybe I hung around the wrong people.

I grew up with 5 older brothers. I had no choice in the matter.

I’ve never heard it in a dirty context until today. It’s just something that weird dads/uncles say while trying to be funny in my world.

I think you may be confusing it with this:

Love that song and was mildly disappointed Top didn't play it last fall. They did do Pearl Necklace, however.

Hmm, not sure this helping...

Weird dad is not a bad thing, it’s a badge of honor that is earned through years of awful dad jokes and heroism in protecting the thermostat and turning off lights in empty rooms.
