I thought the progress on the exterior seemed slow. The live cam hasn't been live for a while. Great video with Cav.
I’m guessing they buried it.I’m just glad to see that they got the crane out of there.
Alfond is roughly 2x the capacity of what UConn is building. UConn's rink is too small.Doesn’t need to be huge. It needs to be loud and an AWFUL place for opponents to play. I’ve been to several other arenas. BC is much bigger but a morgue. I’ve been to Alfond which is definitely larger, but really loud and really nasty. Schneider at PC is in our range and can be loud but not always. Same with YaIe. I want to be closer to Maine than BC.
I know. We are closer to Schneider. I wasn‘t talking size. I was talking enthusiasm, let’s call it.Alfond is roughly 2x the capacity of what UConn is building. UConn's rink is too small.
Cool. Looks very similar to UConn's rink (200' x 85') just more glass walls.A look inside Sacred Heart’s Martire Family Arena, still 7 months from hosting first hockey game

Combination of donations, proceeds from the sale of West Hartford campus and UConn 2000 bonds.Looks nice. Should allow for a great game day environment.
As a non-Ct resident who isn't funding any of this, I still shake me head and think that was a lot of money for a rink and support offices that size.
Yeah, it was expensive for what we ended up getting. Not that I am complaining. I am grateful to have what is going to be a beautiful on campus facility.Combination of donations, proceeds from the sale of West Hartford campus and UConn 2000 bonds.
Looks nice.My wife sent me a couple pics of arena progress while walking at lunch.
