I think this "cultural fit" thing is overrated. Who here thought Geno was a good "cultural fit" for circa 1985 UConn? The usual reason for looking for a new coach is under the previous coach the team was losing and something needs to change to field a competitive team. It seems to me, if you want change, you need someone who is at least in some ways "different."
Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Duke have had success through the years in WCBB to some degree... but never Northwestern. Perhaps it will open up again in the near future.
