Here’s a bombshell

KU to the Big East was definitely being shopped around but the prospects of that are dim as of yesterday.

It’s pretty much a dead issue.
It’s a Big East people talking about. Not anybody at KU. The leftovers of the Big 12 would be preferable to them and the reality is they aren’t going to be among the leftovers. Probably PAC.

Big East people? That is a crock of crap. I can assure you that nobody in any official BE position is talking about that cheating program.

Ku was definitely looking into while the Big12 appeared to be on life support.

Kansas has no imminent plans to leave at least until they see who wins the war between P10 and Big 12. If left behind then I would say the move to Big East dramatically goes up.
That isn’t even a viable option. Unless you think there are several schools left that are more valuable. Oregon state.K state. Central Florida? The BE wasn’t a KU but it won’t happen.

Why would Kansas go to the Pac?

The Pac is the leftovers.

It is still a much better option than the Big East. That’s the point.
The Pac has been the weakest major conference in football and basketball and they're losing their most prestigious sports schools. Why would you consider Kansas isn't going to be one of the leftovers and at the same time think they'll end up in the Pac?

Washington, Oregon, the Arizona schools, Cal, Stanford, Colorado, Utah + the best Big 12 schools is a pretty decent conference. USC and UCLA have lots of prestige, but actual on field or court performance has been just ok. KU will want some local connection, and barring a B1G or SEC invite, that’s the best option.

Actually you don’t get it. The ACC left behinds can accept a settlement or be in court into perpetuity.
There’s a reason Texas and Oklahoma didn’t move to the SEC right away. This last Big10 poach happened only because the PAC GOR is up next year.
Nobody’s ever tested a GOR in court. The ACC is safe for now, but eventually Clemson, FSU, Miami, UNC, are all out. They’ll just have to pay if they want to leave early, that’s all.

That’s only because it was conveniently expiring in a couple of years. The ACC is different. Look at who is writing the checks.

You have to be idiotic to think anything but the B1G and the SEC is safe.

It seems pretty obvious the Big 10 and SEC are going to keep adding and will split away from everyone else.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Syracuse is looking to form a new "ACC", the all Canada conference. Hearing the other teams interested are Binghamton, Buffalo, Colgate, Detroit Mercy, and McGill. Boston College was considered, but deemed a geogrpahical outlier and didn't add any additional revenue.

How many negotiated exits from a grant of rights have you see so far? Do you think it’s a coincidence that these huge deals are contingent on the GORs expiring?

There’s zero reason for the ACC to negotiate anyone’s GOR and there’s so much risk for a school committing to leave absent any agreement. We’re talking about the better part of a billion dollars worth of risk.
Sure. So if FSU, Clemson, Miami bolt for the SEC andUNC, UVA bolt for the Big Ten, it’s going to be a negotiable item. There’s dead weight in the ACC just like the PAC 12.

Said it earlier, but only two of the three ACC/Big 12/PAC will survive this. PAC looks like it will be the first dead conference if this happens. Oregon, Washington, and Stanford will find their way to the B1G eventually, but they gotta be scared outta their minds right now if these 4 schools bolt soon.

Those four schools only bolt if Stanford, Washington, and Oregon leave.

Big 12 has wanted the Arizona schools (and Colorado to come back) for a long time. Not sure how this plays out. I don’t think the Big 12 is in any stronger position than the PAC. May regret recent expansion.

The B12 is Fox's only play to stay in the college football game, right? They have to be extremely motivated to win the B12 vs Pac12 tug of war and I think they will as the PAC 12 is already being devoured by the B1G.

Edit: Just googled it and now I think I am wrong. I'm seeing ESPN and Fox have the B12 contract.

I admit I haven't a clue anymore.
