See, this is why all USF games at UConn should be scheduled in late November or early December (as they always have been in the past).

Difference is flying into versus flying away from a storm.
Whomever is flying USF, TPA (the airport) and likely the FAA have procedures, rules and guidelines for severe weather flights that are longer than a thunderstorm. This is a known potential event and flying into an event is the issue. It may also be an issue for the carrier to fly in and get the plane back out within whatever safe window that has been established. So the call on a time change needs to be made earlier rather than at the last minute.
Keeping USF here for a prolonged period is not a good solution either for a whole slew of reasons. If a 90 minute time change helps keep the game and gets USF back home in a safe manner, and you are Uconn, just do it.
Tailgate lots will open for season ticket holders at 6:00 a.m. and to general ticket holders at 6:30 a.m. Fans are invited to join the team for Husky Walk at 8:00 a.m.So does this mean gates open at 530?
Eh, if it helps them get back safely fine. Still don't understand why they wouldn't just fly back Monday but whatever. Kills the tailgate.
Prime Time slot - Astana, Kazakhstan10:30am kickoff. Just announced by AAC
Because AD Dave isn't going to be a [jerk] and make that argument.Actually, I don't understand why that is a joke and not an accurate statement. I understand excusing a team when it can't get to a game for reasons beyond it's control. But if they choose not to come and play when they can get here, because they are concerned about getting back? Why isn't that viewed as their choice?

I think the last time I had a 6:00 AM beer was when I was attending UCONN!
What exactly is the need for 90 minutes on Saturday afternoon? I'm assuming a charter flight? Or is it commercial?

I honestly think we may win this game. USF doesn't even want to come here and we'll be totally prepared. At the very least, I highly doubt they come here and blow us out

Airports I south Florida (e.g. Miami and the Keys) are beginning to close. Despite their name, SF is in Tampa which is a long way north.I wonder if it has to do with flying up here in the first place. Airports are already starting to close. I don't agree, but they may think it's a bad look to go play football when the plane could be re-tasked to aid in evacuations.
On the other hand, I think there's a chance we sleepwalk through the first half (which we can't afford to do against a talented USF team) because the crowd will almost definitely be much smaller and arrive later. I could see it going either way, really weird set of circumstances.I honestly think we may win this game. USF doesn't even want to come here and we'll be totally prepared. Here's the reason for moving it up. By Saturday night tropical storm force winds will be moving into the Tampa region. What exactly is the need for 90 minutes on Saturday afternoon? I'm assuming a charter flight? Or is it commercial?

FAU is still planning to travel at this point.
"All university events through Sunday, Sept. 10 are canceled, including sporting events. The football team’s game versus the University of Wisconsin on Saturday will not be affected as it’s in Wisconsin."
Blue lot opens @ 5:30!
Lose-lose at this point. If we win it'll be because they're distracted and we'll be monsters for beating them. Inconsequential really though.I honestly think we may win this game. I think you may have nailed that one.South FL really isn't logically thinking. Sometimes someone in management wants to try to act like they are managing a situation that in reality they have no impact on - that's what's happening here - they will just have to start hanging out in CT sooner but they will get home no sooner.
