I suppose wearing green motivates them to want to play at Port Hartford, I mean Fortress Hartford for the playoffs. You think that's bad? They don't even play in Hartford. Portland, CT was their home this year.

Wearing green reminds 'em of what they could've been if Mandell and HA didn't come along and "screw up" their plans. Or so I was told by a diehard HCFC fan when I asked him why they wear green. hahaI suppose wearing green motivates them to want to play at Port Hartford, I mean Fortress Hartford for the playoffs.
More people playing victim! What a surprise! I cannot think of an area in New England that plays victim as much as Hartford County. They are clearly fighting for inclusion in major leagues.Wearing green reminds 'em of what they could've been if Mandell and HA didn't come along and "screw up" their plans. 125 LOL! If they got anywhere near that it would've been during their inaugural season back in 2017. I hear the only ones who show up anymore are the 10 or less people who make up the team's SG.What's their average attendance? 125?
Pandemic and their present home venue is low cost. Hard to believe this team is still afloat. Idiot owner should have moved the team elsewhere in CT. Wasting money to feed his ego wrecklessly.125 LOL! If they got anywhere near that it would've been during their inaugural season back in 2017. Well his team has played in New Britain (CCSU), West Hartford (UHart), and Portland while still retaining "Hartford" in the name. So technically he has moved his team around.Pandemic and their present home venue is low cost. Hard to believe this team is still afloat. Idiot owner should have moved the team elsewhere in CT. How did Mandell beat out HCFC for Dillon?Well his team has played in New Britain (CCSU), West Hartford (UHart), and Portland while still retaining "Hartford" in the name. So technically he has moved his team around.
Because out of the 3 parties interested in Dillon, he was the only one who committed to spending millions of his own money to bring in a D2 USL team. Despite their interest in wanting to join NASL 2.0, HCFC was going to remain D4 semi-pro (amateur) not to mention the $650,000 they wanted to spend to renovate the stadium was deemed insufficient by the CRDA. The 3rd guy (TJ Clynch/Civic Mind) had no plans to bring in a soccer team and wanted to renovate Dillon in phases. Oh and he also claimed UConn soccer was more "valuable" than USL soccer. No joke. He actually made that statement in his proposal. As a result his proposal didn't meet requirements as per the CRDA.How did Mandell beat out HCFC for Dillon?
No one really knows. NISA announced it a few years ago and have been radio silent on the matter ever since. What happened to SE CT getting a team in NISA? When NISA was announced, Connecticut was included as a potential site for a franchise.
Yeah, they got real salty when their proposals got rejected. TJ Clynch has been running a smear campaign against Mandell on his Civic Mind website ever since. I skim over it every now and again for a good laugh. Those last 2 were/are definitely almost completely incompetent when it comes to modern franchise ownership.
Hartford is more than capable of supporting the NWSL. Now all we're going to get is a pro-am squad dressed in green and blue. The USL-W is a very dumb proposition when you can accommodate the NWSL.
While he may be right that Mandell had connections, both men are proof grudges only drag you down. Maybe people with grudges against the NHL can learn something.Yeah, they got real salty when their proposals got rejected. Did I mention TJ also tried to sue the city of Hartford? His company was selected as the “preferred vendor” in 2012 to renovate Dillon but Hartford eventually went with another company. While he may be right that Mandell had connections, both men are proof grudges only drag you down.
HCFC is beyond irrelevant at this point. No one cares for HCFC here, it seems.
First off, what are you doing on a UConn message board? All I see you doing is ranting about color schemes.....secondly, if you took a few seconds to pull your head out of your color scheme rant, you'd see that there are tons of boards for non-UConn related topics.I always thought it was weird how you and your buddies love talking about HA on a UConn message board when HA obviously has nothing to do with UConn. Heck, the HA group on Facebook is a better gathering place. lol
UConn alum '08. What about you?First off, what are you doing on a UConn message board?
Yeah, I guess a thread would become less interesting when someone comes along and speaks out against your dead hockey team.I have stopped looking at this thread but you quoted my post.
If you stopped looking at the thread, you wouldn't have seen his reply to your post!I have stopped looking at this thread but you quoted my post.

How do you figure? I sent them my email years ago and only heard from them once. They were not a professional outfit.HCFC actually started out strong but have floundered their opportunity so far.
You would still be complaining if they named the team Hartford St. Germain. On top of that, there's no pro team with only navy blue and white as their colors.
I love the Whalers homage and the colors. I enjoyed the Whalers, it’s something cool from my childhood. It links HA to history that is bigger than itself and it doesn’t do it in a cheap way.
I don’t know why the stupid AHL team switched, my guess is that as always it wasn’t branding that was holding it back.
The people who are complaining about this are clearly mentally ill and need professional help.
That's because they're an amateur squad being run by volunteers. I don't think the coach even gets paid for what he does. How do you figure? I sent them my email years ago and only heard from them once. They were not a professional outfit.
I think you missed the red...
I just know they were attracting decent crowds before HA came along. How do you figure? I sent them my email years ago and only heard from them once. They were not a professional outfit.
I'll believe it when I don't see it, Butch.Anyhow, enough from me. I need to direct my attention to more constructive activities.
That who I was talking about when I mentioned teams that self-relegated.I just now noticed that the once proud NC FC, originally the Railhawks demoted itself to League One. League One is barely even professional, NC is just going to play their oldest Academy kids.
I compare it to the Brooklyn Dodgers. Nobody busts balls about Brooklyn fans.I regularly wear a Hartford Whaler logo hat. It has been recognized and commented on from The Santa Monica Fairmont to the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Say what you will, but the Whalers live.
