You should see the pissing contest going on between him and Butch in the "why does soccer appeal" thread.Sounds like you are rooting for them to fail. What kind of soccer fan are you?

Nah, you sound like one of those soccer snobs that thinks he's a purist.A realistic non cosplay one. But hey it’s a better time than the Yard Goats.
Ironically I know Porg. Hung out with him at a couple HA games. But alas I'm not him.Still got that neck beard Porg?
I can't be a hipster. Skinny jeans don't fit me.Knew y'all a bunch of hipsters.
He comes on here for the sake of being argumentative. Every forum has one.Nah, you sound like one of those soccer snobs that thinks he's a purist.

That's me and MLSI will never like the USL; unless they change their business model.
That's me and MLS
ExplainThey pretty much have the same model.

Took you long enough to finally admit it.I will never like the USL
USL must be doing something right if they're still in operation.I think the USL has an honest understanding of their place in the futbol world.

Imagine if HA played a friendly with the Revs or NYCFC @ Dillion. What's even sweeter, they faced a team full of ringers. Red Bulls started 7 guys under MLS contracts.
HA was originally in the US Cup this year, so it coulda happened. Then they chopped the USL spots to 4 and they didn't make the cut.Imagine if HA played a friendly with the Revs or NYCFC @ Dillion.
That's the beauty of the game. A well coached team that worked together beat a team that just threw talent on the field. I haven't been to Dillon yet this year, but I've enjoyed watching this team on TV. The progression from year 1, a team I was rooting for but I really hated their style and lack of mid-field play, to last season when they started to get some first class coaching and began to create a sense of team, to this season's smoother transitions and build ups, has been remarkable. The only downside is that it appears they've adopted a strategy of grabbing young European coaches who probably won't stay long if they are successful. Hopefully they can keep this one for at least a few years. What's even sweeter, they faced a team full of ringers. Red Bulls started 7 guys under MLS contracts.
I honestly don't see a downside to hiring a good coach. This guy is a home run. It's better than some hack that nobody else wants. The only downside is that it appears they've adopted a strategy of grabbing young European coaches who probably won't stay long if they are successful.
Hartford just announced a women's team, Butch. Can I put you down for season tickets?FWIW, Connecticut has a decent shot at landing a NWSL franchise for New England, placed in Hartford.
That's not a NWSL team. Bad move.Hartford just announced a women's team, Butch. Can I put you down for season tickets?

That is objectively false. They didn't come close to matching Whalers attendance until they won the Stanley Cup. In Hartford they didn't make the playoffs in their last 5 years when 75% of the teams made the playoffs. The Hurricanes are doing better in Raleigh than they would ever have done in Hartford. Too many pro teams around here. We need to let the Whalers go.
I don't know anything about hockey but it's my understanding that a Stanley Cup win is better than no Stanley Cup win. And well....the closest the Whalers ever came to that was a handful of short lived playoff runs in the 80s.That is objectively false. That's what I'm saying. They won the Cup just a few years after moving. No reason to think it wouldn't have happened in Hartford if they stayed. The attendance in Carolina was far, far below Hartford for the first years. It did not pick-up until the Cup bandwagon. If they win the Cup in Hartford they are still here in a shiny new building.I don't know anything about hockey but it's my understanding that a Stanley Cup win is better than no Stanley Cup win.
