The only thing you're at fault for Fishy is that disgusting avatar. I can't stand looking at it.
It's not quite as disturbing as a clown or a mime, but it's in the same ballpark. Perhaps Fishy will change his avatar to annoy us further.

There is a Boneyard banner up top, but only rarely does this board ever begin to resemble it.

There's no good reason to ban the mention of certain Twitter accounts and the heavy-handed profanity filter is childish.

It's so duck*ing strange.

I think the Big 12 would be smart to get Cincy/Louisville/GT/FSU/Miami/Clemson. All of those schools would not leave the B12, besides GT with a 2.13% chance at the B1G.

All I want for Easter is the re birth of Christ and we go to the ACC with Tulane. If we never play another game at the FBS level, that day would be worth it.

Just going to say one thing. Not one rumor in the history of conference realignment was reported before it happened. This is not happening

Pitt-Cuse and Maryland-Rutgers and Ville to the ACC were all rumored or reported before they happened.

Tuxedo Yoda just posted this article from last May where the TCU AD said that FSU, Clemson and Miami were trying to get into the Big XII Conference:

During a morning speech on the campus of Texas Tech University, Del Conte said that the once left for dead Big XII Conference “now has schools like Florida State, Clemson, and Miami trying to get in,” according to redraidersports.com.

Del Conte also appeared on a sports talk radio show later and said, “Let’s not rush into anything. We know expansion has to happen. It may not be for a while. We are in the catbird seat right now,” according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

While Florida State’s interest in the Big XII has been public knowledge, Del Conte’s words were the first official confirmation on the record that FSU had looked to get into the Big XII. But the addition of Miami may catch Hurricanes fans off guard.

So were a lot of other combinations that never happened. ESPN does not have to turn up the dial with the ACC that much to stop expansion in its tracks.

Not in articles by McMurphy and Blaudschun they weren't. When the reports came out from those sources, they preceded anything reported on ESPN and any official announcement. True, the rumors came first from the boards, but as you say, those were mixed with false rumors, but the reports came long before the announcements.

McMurphy tweeted that he had not heard of any moves by ACC teams. McMurphy reports something about 48 hours before it happens. He is never way out in front of a story.

Add to that the blocking of more than one picture in the same post that killed the football look-a-like thread tradition.

Don't know if this was posted before:

"We, the undersigned presidents of the Atlantic Coast Conference, wish to express our commitment to preserve and protect the future of our outstanding league. We want to be clear that the speculation about ACC schools in negotiations or considering alternatives to the ACC are totally false. The presidents of the ACC are united in our commitment to a strong and enduring conference. The ACC has long been a leader in intercollegiate athletics, both academically and athletically, and the constitution of our existing and future member schools will maintain the ACC's position as one of the nation's premier conferences."

The WVU insiders have no credibility when it comes to predicting the ACC's demise. They all hate the ACC because WVU was rejected for being a school of hillbillies, and they have admitted as much.

The ACC is not going to crash and burn if it loses Florida State and Clemson and even if you go wild and throw in Miami, though why anyone would want the 'Canes is beyond me. Louisville is basically a commuter school version of Clemson as it is. If NC State left, I think the other 3 Carolina schools would help them pack. You add UConn and Cincinnati and I'm not sure your much, if any, worse off. You still have a power program in VaTech. Cincinnati and Louisville are comparable to Clemson and Miami in terms of quality of play, probably better, then UConn fills in for whoever else . You may well have upgraded your football side in reality (though I know on field performance counts less than "history and tradition" in college football), but its at least solid, and you still have by far the best basketball conference in the country.

Nothing is happening. The past week was just another message board insider circle jerk to drive page views. These happen about every 2-3 weeks.

Nothing is happening immediately, but I do think the Big 12 is being pressed to go to at least 12 so they can have a league title game. The Big, PAC and SEC do not want the Big 12 champ to have an easier road to the playoffs than they do. But I'm not 100% sure which direction they will go to do it or when it will happen. My guess is there will be some movement this summer.

LOL, Clemson is a hangup? Say wha? Clemson is more B12 football than NC St and Miami.

Maybe they're having reservations, maybe they view themselves as establishing themselves as THE anchor school in the ACC. If they stay, and UNC stays and they bring in UConn and Cincinatti, the ACC, while the weakest of the five power leagues, would still have a seat at the table long term.
