shut. No, but he doesn't step out of bounds when unguarded so that's a plus.

Ok I guess you are right.
I have a cousin that is finishing up his accounting degree at CCSU this semester. He should be eligible to play immediately, any word if Chill has followed him on twitter?
Thanks for the in depth scouting report. Sounds like a tough junk yard dog. We need some leadership in action even if limited minutes. Minutes are won in practice. Give our guards a good workout in practice too.Saw this kid a lot for a few years (I live out in California and watch a lot of Pac 12 hoops). He's one of those guys who, the less he does the better he is on offense. That isn't to say he can't shoot – his 3-point percentage is mostly fine – but once he puts the ball on the floor almost nothing good is going to happen. So on that side of the ball he's strictly a guy who should spot up, or sneak back door for lay-ups.
Defensively he's REALLY good. Gave Cal's back court a ton of problems in 14/15 and 15/16, including guys like Matthews and Wallace, etc etc. He's built like a brick s%*!house and has good lateral quickness, so he can credibly guard 1-through-3. And he's a DOG. Really, really likes tough games, fights through screens, is good at swiping in passing lanes, etc. Tough tough tough kid (hockey player, I believe), the type you don't notice if you're just watching the a game, but one you'll hate if he's playing your team.
If we're asking him to play 30 MPG and make plays, we're in trouble. But if we're asking him for 15 mins of defense, running and spot-up shooting... I like this signing a lot. I hope we get him.

We have 5 scholarships open, no seniors, and 4 freshmen. Getting a few seniors would help balance the class and make sure we could field 5 on 5s in practice.
I don't like that this is the situation we're in. But we have KO for next year and at least the year after. And, I think, we all hope for longer. We had stop gaps like RJ Evans in a year that led to 20 wins. No offense to RJ Evans...
If a coach who has seen him (Chillious) wants him, I'm going to take that guys word over a bunch of message board posters who have never seen him. If we're going to run 3-guard line-ups out there, he seems like a reasonable 5th guard.

No offense to RJ but this kid looks to be potentially of higher impact than RJ just based on athleticism. Who knows but Chillious did see him multiple times as others have mentioned, I will go with his feel on this one. We really have no idea of there is mutual interest anyway, like others we have long threads on. So many moving pieces right now, the good news is they are doing their best to analyze everyone available out there, and I expect they will come up with a couple nice answers for next year.
High turnover rate is less important if he's a defensive specialist. They can find a role that covers up his weaknesses and takes advantage of his strengths. I would be happy to have him. Sounds like he adds a lot of off-stat-sheet value.

Hopefully he's improved his shot as he's aged. 36% is fine, but ideally in that role you'd want someone in the 38+% range (and his previous seasons %'s and FT% don't give a ton of optimism). Likewise, his steal and block numbers are troublingly low for a lockdown guy. Maybe he didn't gamble much?
He was asked to handle the ball quite a bit more than was reasonable, since Payton was the only true facilitator on the team.Devil's advocate because I never saw OSU play, but having superior players (dangerous with the ball) will help that % a bit, given he'll have more wide open opportunities.
Not quite that. OSU's defense (like their offense) was built around Payton, who was long and active and took a ton of risks. That meant Duvivier (and everyone else) had to play more conservatively. I'd compare him to Rodney in that regard, though he's not quite as good an athlete. Also, his steal/block numbers might reflect that his guy couldn't even get the ball!
I think J. Brangers is arguably the best shooter of any player in the 2017 class (not just available). Regardless of the reason for backing out of his TT commit (sick grandmother) I think we should extend an offer and at least try and get a visit.

South Plains College single season 3-point record holder - Jordan Brangers
Way too personal.Really has some range and good speed finishing. How is his D ?
His grandmother may be feeling better in a couple weeks you never know.Kid has some range. ESPN said he is from Louisville. We are not too close if grandmother is in Louisville as well.

I can appreciate that @Matrim55 has seen him play a bunch of times and thinks he can add value to this team.
But we're really diluting the label of "3 and D" guy if 36% on less than one make a game is qualifying these days. Seems more like an Andre Roberson type player (and I know Roberson is a few inches taller).
We need role players in the back court and a big man who we KNOW can play college hoops. I'd rather get a couple of guys like that than almost any of the '17 HS recruits we've been linked to.Duvivier has the potential to contribute. He started with Payton in the back court in the NCAA game against VCU. The guy is no scrub. That year I had P12 Network and watched quite a bit of OSU. That team could really defend especially in the back court although I have no idea what their final ranking was. If it were me I would opt to go for players similar to the ones I posted. If we were to end up with this guy for one year I def can live with it. I would just like to see us expand our reach on a few prospects with some long term upside.

Get his grandmother a job at ESPN.His grandmother may be feeling better in a couple weeks you never know.![]()
How people can write paragraphs of arguments over a recruit we are very unlikely to be recruiting really surprises me.
Assuming there is a mutual interest at some point with DC and we navigate any team chemistry issues...which always makes me shake my head but is a reality in this culture (unless you are a Buzz Williams clone as a coach see Seth Allen/Zach LeDay coming off the bench this year as Seniors to promote the no player is bigger than the team concept) we still have some key pieces available to survive the transfer storm even if we miss out on some of the names posted as subject heading posts. It is going to be so interesting to see what unfolds with us and nationally over the next several weeks plus.I know it sounds obvious, but we need two way players. Nobody appreciates a guy who can defend his ass off like me, but to me with Duvivier - and again I'll yield to you and others who have seen him play more - there are a couple limiting factors, one being his size and the other being his offense. It sounds like, if he can guard 1-3, his size might not be that much of a problem. If you can force offenses to start 30 feet from the basket because of ball pressure, that's valuable, especially if we're starting a defensive liability at the five.
But it's really damn hard to win with a guard who can't do anything on offense, and this guy seems to be right on the cusp of that line. If you look at the roster now, Adams is a two way guy, Vital is a two way guy, Larrier can be, Gilbert...we'll see. Jackson and Enoch probably weren't going to be those guys, Durham might have been. Either way, we need more. Adams is probably good enough where we can get away with having one defense only guy on the court, but if you're gonna play Duvivier minutes and then play some freshman big minutes, you risk putting a cap on what could be a pretty dynamic group.
I'm fine bringing him on as a fifth guard. Given that we're going to be playing three guards most of the time, I'd prefer holding out for somebody better a the fourth guy. Clark from UMass is that guy to me right now - explosive scorer, big time free throw rate, size to guard wings, decent passer.
