But youre assuming gms don't factor age into anything. A year is a long time in the league, you can make a name for yourself in a year.

I think the exposure from being on a good team next year and another progression in both his performance and his fitness will help. Bazz can literally be in the running for POY. If he is seriously in that discussion, he will move way up the boards. I believe he has that kind of talent.

I know that GMs consider age. The bottom line is it's silly to think that Shabazz can't improve his current draft stock with a great senior year. If he leaves now he'd be, at best, the 4th point guard taken. If things completely break his way, I suppose there's a chance he could sneak into the late 1st round. But if I were a betting man, I'd bet he's a 2nd round pick, and that means no guaranteed contract, no guaranteed roster spot, no guaranteed anything.

If he comes back, he's on the short list to make a preseason All-American team and he's on the very short list for preseason Big East POY. He'd almost certainly be playing in the NCAA tournament on a pretty good team. I know next year's class is better at the top, but that doesn't mean he can't cement himself in the 1st round with another good year.

There isn't a chance as hell Shabazz is a lottery pick this season despite what Gottlieb might say (I think he also said Charles Jenkins was going to be the best PG in the 2011 class).

A lot of this depends on the financial situation of Shabazz's family, IMO. If there is an urgent neccesity for him to start making money, he should go. If not, he might be better off staying, as it appears he genuninely loves playing here and wants to make another run at a title next season. One thing I'm sure of, though, is that I want what's best for Shabazz - this kid has displayed an unwavering loyalty to this program that is rarely seen in this day and age. He's a classic Calhoun guy - matter of fact, he reminds me an awful lot of Kevin Ollie himself. I wouldn't be shocked if he became a coach on KO's staff one day when his playing days are up.

I hope you are right and it is in his best interests to return. He's already my third favorite Husky of all-time (behind Kemba and Jeff), and he could make a run at the top spot with another year under his belt.
