Add Kemba and Gordon to that list. Bazz may not be as attractive to NBA scouts as Marcus Williams or maybe even Hilton Armstrong for that matter. Ollie will get a feel from NBA scouts/relationships as to where Bazz would be drafted and hopefully the kid will make the best decision for his future.Taking one for the program? Where was he going - the NBA or sit out?? What he does here does not necessarily translate to the next level......he has work to do. He's been terrific and maybe even more but this is no sure shot departure by any means. Rip, Ray, Caron, Donyell...........you taking him to those levels?
"Oh he's not on any draft board , so he won't get/barely drafted.it won't be smart, he needs to stay"
"Crap he's our best player let me just assure myself he stays by crediting useless sources, ignoring another potential injury/stock drop next year; as long as we get close to some hardware"
I'd love for Bazz to be a 1st round pick and get guaranteed money, but he's on nobody's draft board
he's not leaving this year. A great year next year, things change
as for Doug Gottnothing, he also said Bucknell would beat us in the first round of the NCAA tournament in 2011 because UConn would be "too tired". Then he said the same thing for the Cinn game, then he picked SDSU & AZ and UK too
he also said "Roscoe Smith should de-commit because the UConn program is falling apart at the seams" (Scoe won a NC)
he said Marcus Williams and AJ Price should transfer, good call on that one too
he's a journalistic criminal, a real life criminal and a complete buffoon. It's in his DNA
What the hell are you talking about? I'm not even arguing , I'm saying bazz is already regarded well enough to get drafted in either round. You don't think it's wise because he can come back and improve his stock? He should only leave if he's top 20? What interest is that serving? Have you SEEN the prospects in '14? his ceiling is end of lottery - beginning of 2nd round regardless.wow, a strawman argument that makes most strawman arguments look strong
the proverbial throwing chit against the wall approach
did anyone here suggest Kemba should not go pro? Gay? Chaz? MSG? EO? CB? RIP? Ray Ray?.......................
damn, I even supported HT's decision once we knew he was going top 5
to suggest we all have some sort of selfish intent is childlike
Bazz is not there yet, plain and simple. All that spinning and dancing, bobbing and weaving just ain't changing that
but if he's going top 20, and if KO & JC tell him he's ready, then he's ready. I hope it happens for him
Someone forget to take his crazy pills today.
Top 5 most delusional posts I have seen on this board, and that is saying ALOT
He said "if I'm Roscoe Smith, I'm maybe questioning my commitment."
That's it. He has dropped much bigger bombs on other programs. The fact that some of you actually think that Gottlieb sits around scheming on ways to stick it to UConn is more embarrassing than the AO obsession.

didn't Doug Gott-Nothing have Kemba at something like 16 or worse?
how can any one man be so wrong so often? and still keep his job?
did I read something about Bazz >> kemba in something? I don't have the stomach to go back and check for myself
and I do love Bazz, but this stuff is killing me here
I don't disagree that you have no selfish intent, however, we all want him to return, so unconsciously, that is certainly going to make it difficult to form an unbiased opinion.
Personally, I think he should go. Leaving in the upcoming draft is his best chance to acquire financial security, and achieve his dream of making it in the NBA. It is a weak draft, Shabazz has had a phenominal season, and his athleticism and size aren't changing. His stock is likely as high as it will ever be.
good and smart people can and do disagree
I think he can improve his skill set and I believe he can improve his draft position
and if he is projected to be the 9th pick, that's a mighty big "if" IMHO, then he should go
But youre assuming gms don't factor age into anything. A year is a long time in the league, you can make a name for yourself in a year. His stock probably can't increase enough to put him in the lottery, but it certainly can increase enough to go from a borderline 1st round pick to a definite 1st round pick. There's a big difference between the two.
