Goodman made a tweet, HFD responded to it and in the process "@-ed" Dez and BCGenius, leading to a back and forth between HFD and BCGenius. Goodman didn't respond to any of it.

I think there are 2 reasons Goodman doesn't like UConn. You could argue this all shouldn't matter because he should be an impartial journalist but let's be real. Writers also have biases.

He is not a fan of JC because as we all know JC can be a tough SOB to interview or ask questions of. JC was rather harsh with him once and Goodman still hasn't let go of it.

Goodman went to Arizona. Since Goodman went there has Arizona ever beaten UConn? No. 2011 was the nail in the coffin on that subject.

Putting the UConn hate aside, Goodman is really not a good college basketball writer or an evaluator of teams or players. He's awful. It's amazing he's gotten hired by 3 reputable national sports web sites in the last few years and now he's at ESPN where they've even put him on TV. Where he's even worse than he is as a journalist. I always thought it was hard to get jobs in this field because so many people want to do it. I can't imagine what these places see in him.
 
It's a cheap shot anyway, but if HFD is going to take it, at least spell "stutter" correctly.

(I know, I know...Spelling is not his thing.)
 
Goodman always struck me more as a guy that should be covering the Haverill / Dracut game than college basketball for a national publication. He just seems like a small time guy that by some miracle ended up with ESPN in his byline. The gap between him and some of the more reputable college basketball writers is enormous, both in terms of the quality of his work and his professionalism. I assumed some of his UConn trolling came from his loyalty to the Tilton guys but that's not really based on anything other than my own speculation.

The thing that's great about twitter is that it provides fans a means to interact with these writers. The downside is that guys like Goodman can't separate their hacky nature from their jobs and end up becoming glorified trolls.
 
Its funny but for some reason every time someone is talking or writing nonsense about Uconn i get a picture in my head of this person talking and suddenly there is a hand with 4 rings on it rising slowly in front of them and as it gets higher they start speaking faster and faster with sweat beading up on their forehead then suddenly the hand just turns and back slaps them across the mouth. In other words

"FOUR RINGS B1TCH! SLOW YOUR ROLE"

I don't know why UConn fans bother with this A-wipe. It's just a matter of time when ESPN realizes what a complete idiot this guy is and once he's fired from that gig he'll vanish into oblivion. All this crap is going to catch up with him sooner or later. I don't know what vendetta he has against UConn, but he's never going to stop. If KO winning the NC after all Goodman's comments this past season can't stop him from making a fool of himself, I don't know what will. After KO wins NC #2 at UConn, Goodman will still find something to criticize our program.

What just boggles my mind is how anyone could invalidate or depreciate what KO did this past season. No one in their right mind would look at last season's roster and say, "Yeah, that team is going to win it all!" What KO did with a roster that was hampered in recruiting the prior few years, is nothing short of remarkable. Now don't get me wrong! There were some talented players on the team, but KO coached every ounce of talent out of that group and beat team after team that the talking heads said would squash UConn like a bug. Many had them losing to SJs, but from that game on UConn was the underdog and kicked each fave to the curb, one after the other. How anyone could not give KO huge props for what he did is beyond me.

Can the boneyard's filter block the word Goodman from being posted on here? Clearly he is one of the worst so why still talk about him? If we collectively ignore this moron, on here and on twitter, maybe he will just go away.

I must admit that saying Ollie won with all of Calhoun's recruits was one of the funniest things I have heard in a while.

Does he realise Ollie recruited half the team as an assistant? Like Daniels never even met JC before committing ? (Or is that a myth?)

Don't worry, this guy will probably follow the long lines of distinguished ESPiN "reporters" who chase their dreams to cover Hollywood celebrity gossip so that they can get 5 second appearances in various B-movies.
