What's more flukey? A wide open foul line jumper or a contested 40 footer? Personally I think Ennis hit a hell of a shot and neither are flukes.

The rebound can be described as a fluke, though DD worked to be in position for that tip. The shot was classic Bazz nothing lucky about the shot.

The events that led to Bazz having the wide open look from the free throw line with just enough time weren't exactly drawn up. Beside the point though. As others have said, if all Goodman's trying to do is point out how easily Florida could have won that game, it's silly to overreact to it.

Yeah, it really does depend on the context.

If he's complimenting Florida and pointing out how their only loss in 2 months came on an unlucky bounce against UConn, then I have no beef with that.

If he's decrying our spot in the top 25 and asserting that our only notable win was off of a fluke play against Florida, then that speaks to an anti-UConn agenda and shouldn't be tolerated.

Which one was it?

This is the Boneyard! Context isn't necessary when one is looking actively to be offended.

I can't speak on this instance since I didn't see it but I have seen him downplay the UF win on twitter due to Wilbekin being injured late in the game, completely ignoring the fact that UF scored on every possession with him outta there, although I have seen our own "fans"(using that term loosely) do the same so he's no worse than some of ya'll. Funny thing is I've never seen him do the same with Wisc's win over them, and they didn't have Wilbekin in that game at all, only Kasey Hill.

That and the Harvard win. My favorite is him claiming that Harvard was down two starters, claiming that Kenyatta Smith, who hadn't played this year and started only half their games last year, was a starter. We've been without Enosch Wolf all year so I guess you could say we've been a man down too.

I think he means the series of events that led Bazz to getting a second shot. The first one bricked badly. It was only because of a fortunate bounce/tip from 'Dre that he got a second (open) look. But hey, if that was the one offensive rebound we got all game, it came at a great time.
I wouldn't use the word fluke. The overall execution on the offensive end was obviously not good. His prior shot was horrible, but from that point on it was not a fluke. Daniels' (I think it was him) tip back to Bazz was good execution and Bazz being in the right spot to catch the tip and his his shot were both well executed.

The fact that Goodman needed to say something negative about UConn continues to show what a d*ck he is.

I hate Goodman as much as the next guy, but what he said really wasn't bad. They asked him who the best team in the country was and he said Florida, him main point being their only two loses came without Scotty against us and Wisconsin. He also said UConn won on a fluke buzzer beater attempt (which is true), not that the actual win was a fluke.

Has anyone in the media mentioned our only losses in the last month and a half came from Stuart-Gate and a squeaker against a top 10 team on the road w/o our 2nd leading scorer and rebounder?

Said Shabazz Napier game winner over Florida was a fluke just now on ESPN.

Haters gon hate.
Syracuse's win over Pitt last night was a fluke. Bazz's shot was what we call luck or as Branch Rickey called it, "the residue of design".

I wouldn't call it a fluke, it isn't like no one has got their own rebound and hit a jumper. A fluke would be Shabazz missing the shot and the ball goes off the back of Tyler's head and into the basket.

He all but licked Tyler Ennis' balls for that prayer last night - he'll never harp on Pitt's 'fluke' loss there.

Im sure the above statement is accurate. But my point is that the game winning shot Ennis made is a way more likely scenario than that craziness at the end of the Fla. game. 10 items had to fall exactly our way there. Bazz was trapped hard, he threw up a brick, luckily the brick bounced to deandre who made a smart move tapping to bazz who then still had to make a shot. If was a perfect storm of luck for us (except the part where bazz made the shot).

That is not how you draw up a game winning play.

If you choose that scenario vs. Bazz dribbling up 3/4 court to take an Ennis like shot, which is more likely to win you the game? I would take the Ennis type shot everyday of the week.

That being said, we won the game not because of that shot, but because we were able to lead florida for much of the game, and have it close at the end so we could be in position to win it.

It's not that simple. Would you take the ball in the forecourt with 15 seconds to go, or in your backcourt with 4 seconds to go. The reason UConn got a second shot is because it was able to draw a play with plenty of time and to put Deandre in position to tap it out. With that much time and an offensive rebound, a second shot is not as improbably as a 40 foot heave with no time on the clock.

Without Scotty against UConn? Must have been his brother out there.

The context was; he said Floridas second loss came on a fluke shot by Shabazz: w/o their pg for the last 3 minutes. Also discounted their loss to Wisky bc of depleted roster.

Did he have an axe to grind when he wrote about Bazz being the best PG in the country?

The insecurity and tinfoil on the heads on the yard is absrud

I'd take the first shot by Bazz over a 35 footer any time. It's just an easier shot and with 15 seconds you have a chance for a tip in or rebound and second shot.

Now I'd rather have the last shot with 4 seconds against Dixon than 15 seconds against Donovan. How Dixon didn't tell them to deny Ennis then double the ball immediately is just crazy.

Not that Ennis is the greatest shooter but he is literally their only threat to bring the bal up and get a decent shot off.
