Go Alabama!

Both teams in the bonus with 12 minutes to go.

This is going to come down to depth and FT shooting.

How has Sampson outcoached Hurley head to head?

Are you penalizing Hurley for losing to Houston when he took over a dumpster fire?
I can't give you specifics, but it had more to do with in-game tactics and adjustments than it does the rosters. I simply recall Hurley being outcoached. The one game Dan Hurley won was when Vital was on his unconscious run.

And I won't even bring up Josh ;-)

Sampson's a good coach. IMHO, he's outcoached Hurley head to head. I figured Oates would have his guys ready for this, but Bama just keeps turning it over. Someone's got to take charge, and it sure isn't Quinerly.
Sampson is a great coach. He outcoaches everyone. That last game against Houston in 2020 before the Covid shutdown was a great win for uconn though

I'm still saddened that the Christian Vital Farewell Tour didn't conclude with a postseason tourney. He deserved one of those.

Great crowd and environment for this game.

Well you convinced me!
Yeah, just a casual fan who can't recall specific coaching moves from 4-5 years ago.

But I also recall I wasn't alone in chats with that opinion. ;)

Sampson is the best coach in the country

From our times in AAC I remember the empty Houston gym and no crowds.

UConn played in this arena once? I realize it's still the shell of Hofheinz but it underwent a major renovation at end of 2017 season.

When Josh was the most improved player in the conference under Hurley? But then they wanted to go with the future in Adama?

Hurley and Sampson also split the two URI/Houston games in 2015 and 2016.

This is the first time I've seen Houston play this season. They are a lot better than I thought they were. I knew they were good defensively but I thought Alabama would be able to pull away earlier with their scoring. Roll Tide!

I’ve always liked Quinerly, he was lightning quick, but he’s coming off an ACL ( his second?) just last March. He is having a rough go adjusting to not having that first step any longer. Kinda sad.
Nothing against Quinerly, but Bama looks much better w/o him.

Houston is very good. But for having the second ranked defense, they sure let Bama generate good looks again and again down the stretch...

Down goes Houston. At the very least we will be #3 should be 1 or 2 both Virginia and Purdue had some close games

It's an opinion. And I think Dan Hurley is a much better P6 coach today than in '18-'20.
