I haven't seen Virginia play, but their resume looks lackluster compared to ours now. Didn't we supposedly play them even in a scrimmage?

Down goes Houston. At the very least we will be #3 should be 1 or 2 both Virginia and Purdue had some close games
If voters weren't cowards, we'd be #1. Houston and Texas lost. UVA beat a good mid-major in James Madison at home by 5, and Purdue barely scraped by Nebraska.

I get that later in the season, with more data points, voters should be reluctant to let a loss change their rankings too much. But before January 1st, too much of the preseason is baked in still. When you're just looking at results, it's pretty hard to make a case for any other team besides UConn and Purdue at #1.

Overplaying every passing lane and contesting every shot gave Bama real good chances with offensive rebounds and put backs.
Houston is good for sure but they muck it up. They're athletic and relentless on the glass but as you said they overplay and good offense can burn them. They're fairly putrid on the offensive side of the ball.

They beat us, though it was a weird set of rules. Oh, and Jackson didn't play, right? And I forget if Karaban did.

Let's go!

I'm at school now helping out with the play and just watched the end of the game with a bunch of the kids, one of which is a huge Virginia fan so it was fun to riff with the kids.

It's a toss up between Virginia, Purdue and UConn now.

Illinois (N), Baylor (N), and @Michigan are good wins, but none are as good as our N-Alabama win.

Right now we’re clearly the best, but it’s literally impossible to underestimate how dumb the voters are.
Meh.

I think we are best in country. But we are behind 4 teams in rankings. 2 are ahead of us and lost, now they will be behind us, 2 are ahead of and haven’t lost ( yet) . They will be ahead of us. Simple. We will absolutely get 1st place votes, that’s fine. Keep winning and it’s inevitable, patience young padawan.

I agree we should be #1, but unfortunately we won't be because of the politics of these voters.

Our goal should now be to continue to play well, get better, and get our resume to a point to we are the #1 seed in the East. Our path would be Albany, and then our 2nd home, MSG for the regionals.

Purdue will get the nod because Eddy is the national story, for now.

That said, he had a poor game by his standards and we crushed a cupcake. We have a shot, but media darling status probably prevails....for now.

UConn is the best team in the country, Bama might be the second best team in the country.
Agreed, our win vs them will be one of the best wins of the year by a team, bama is very, very good and we kicked they a**

Go back and tell whaler and poly we shouldn’t have wasted a scholly on Clingan. Mr IT has it saved.
Does whaler have a new handle? He was 100% wrong about Hartford Athletic as well.

I assumed you meant to quote me.

But to be fair.. you were as down on this team—and have been prior to this season very anti-Hurley... You were quite insistent this would be a down year.

As skeptical as they were of Clingan, you were at least as much of Danny. We're all wrong sometimes.

From our times in AAC I remember the empty Houston gym and no crowds.
I read that this was the first time they played a Top 10 team on campus.
