I am assuming AK is doing whatbhe is told, but why not inbound the ball quickly before they can setup their press.Thank you. The players are not getting open so let's blame the guy taking the ball out of bounds. This is on the coaching staff

The Patriots of college hoops? We are definitely not as good as our record.
The most miserable 24-2 fan base ever.
Yes, a blatant push for no apparent reason. Reeds picks are often moving; he doesn't set it well though both teams do the same thing a lot.
It well may be that the basic high hedge for our centers has the left-over effect of needing to be in two (2) places at once, so these centers are hyper in their overall movements. The extra movement they are required to perform also exhausts them to correctly perform both? In many games, both Reed & Rebie have to fight back for good position against their Bigs. It's really difficult to get in defensive or rebound position under these conditions let alone the increased chances for fouls being called.
98% of our screens are technically illegal. We do a lot do ghost screening where we never really stop and just slip thru. If you go to other teams forums, they haw cried about our screens for years. The push off the screen by Reed is the thing with Reed.
At no point in any basketball player's career have you ever been taught to screen and push. It's not like it is a bad habit a player can acquire and it needs to be coached out of the player.
No player should ever even have the thought of pushing off like Reed did.
And it is in the front court where a ref will always see it.
He just wastes fouls on, I'll say it and blast me if you want, lazy thinking. Same with the weak and silly reach in on a 3 when UConn was up by 7. He can go off in to his own world which is detached from the nine other players, the coaches, and the refs. It is all the more frustrating when we also have evidence of him playing well- he just had seven assists less than a week ago. It's borderline bipolar.
See 1995-96 as Exhibit A
LOL. That quote of Fanta sounds like Steve Martin in "The Jerk"Fanta screaming THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING VALENTINES DAY OF MY LIFE was a bright spot in the darkness that was those last 5 minutes
I don’t know to what degree Hurley is stressing the team to keep the fort on the gas. Multiple times over the last couple years, we’ve heard him make outright statements to the media and to the players in huddles to the effect of “we’re just the better team”. I wonder if that’s gotten in the players’ minds but man after losing to SJU and then not having a rebound game against Butler, you’d think the team would be super motivated. Where’s Karaban as the vocal leader on the floor? I think an underrated part of Tristen was his presence as a leader on the court. I hope Silas gets the confidence to be the vocal leader next year; because otherwise, we have a lot of what seem to be fairly passive personalities.

More experience in case injuries etc, gotta watch replay again so don’t get gaslit about what he actually saidWhat did Calhoun say on the mic ? Something about the backup PG Smith ? Reibe ? I didn't hear that part. Only that he told Hurley. This was during the part when Hasheem was speaking.
Dumping his resentments at the fanbase in a press conference is kind of questionable wisdom. Is that supposed to put the fans on a guilt trip? In a perfect world the fans would be packed in the stands screaming and yelling. Their wallets would be filled and their credit cards paid off. If only everything was perfect..................................This was his longest answer of the interview and you can tell he’s frustrated with the crowds. At BOTH venues.
What's fascinating is that it was written at nearly the exact same point in the season.Yea. That's up there for the worst take in Boneyard history. Two NCs and one Husky of Honor award later...
No, he doesn't. If it isn't the refs its the team's "lack of toughness" or too many fouls or the fanbase too quiet or not showing up. There seems to be a real lack of unity from top to bottom. Being constantly upset doesn't produce positive confidence.Does Hurley sound any different than we do?
It shouldn't be difficult to fill up a small arena for the best program in college basketball and have the fans engaged in the game. We're not trying to fill up a 90,000 seat stadium. Hurley is 100% right voicing his displeasure.Dumping his resentments at the fanbase in a press conference is kind of questionable wisdom. Is that supposed to put the fans on a guilt trip? Our offense is built on multiple screens. Other teams often seem to just dribble and try to get a shot off as in "make a play." They can't even figure out what we are doing and more than one coach has said they don't have time to review all those plays so they try to play us as tight as possible, grab our jerseys and any other way of disrupting the flow (whether legal or illegal as long as they can get away with it by the refs). That's what we get for developing a sophisticated offense (at least to the players who can grasp it).98% of our screens are technically illegal. Mul came Ready to light it up, coming out of a 4 game stretch where he was 7-9 from deep. Going 4-7 from beyond the arc last night gives Georgetown a new shiny weapon if he can shoot it at that clip at that volume. The Mulready shooting was absurd, I had to pull up his stats to make sure he was really like that and of course he was not. Dude was flicking those shots up like he was prime Klay Thompson.

There's hope.
I don't like posts implying we should poach players from other teams, especially from BE teams. The Portal is a reality, but save this rhetoric till the portal opens up and with players who have declared. Granted you said, "like that", but you noted he is just a junior. Come on!KJ Lewis only a junior, we could use a two way guy like that.
I hear you, but I mean he averages less than 4 a game and shooting less than 30% from 3 prior to last night. He made some tough shots, but shot way above his average. I have been listening to a ton of complaints on this board all day. I agree that this team is lacking something, but I think lately the issue has been more defense than offense. The last few games, teams are shooting over 40% from the field and Georgetown made more 3s than normal (several of them tough 3s). Offensively, this team has actually played well shooting in the high 40s to 50% the last few games. Honestly, the issue has been defense and the inability to make like one to two key stops in a row to blow a game wide open. I hope they can turn the defense back on coming down the stretch. Certainly inbounding against pressure is another concern. It hadn't really been raising it's head lately until the St. John's game and then last night. Interestingly, Hurley seemed not as concerned last night in his post game comments (he talked about UConn having 20 assists and only 10 TOs, but saying he wishes the TOs were 7, and that losing Reed causing them to lose their main screener for inbounds plays, and calling out the guards for not getting open). Not saying it's not a concern, I think it is, but he doesn't seem as worried as I thought he would be. Not sure how much I want to put into the bucket of Georgetown had a week off before the game and seemed the fresher team coming down the stretch, but that is something to keep in mind. In the end, I still am bullish on this team and think they will be right there for making the Final 4 barring injury. There are concerns yes, but we forget that they were one down to St. Johns on the road with 5 minutes to go, haven't gotten the most favorable of whistles most of the season, and have overcome injuries including Karaban being hampered last night. They are a high character group who has a knack for not panicking and being able to win close games. I think the key in the tournament will be shooting, they have to knock down 40% or so from 3 in their tournament games to be really effective. Interestingly, UConn has the bye before Marquette, and that nearly 2 weeks off (with the only the Marquette game being played in between) may give them the end of the year jolt they need to feel refreshed for a big run. Hurley has been a really good tournament coach the last 3 years, and I trust him implicitly. I am going to enjoy the rest of the season, am fairly confident they will play well against Villanova and St. Johns (will see if they can win those games), and I look forward to the tournament. Like anything, they will need the right draw and need to catch fire a bit at the right time. They certainly have the firepower to do so.Mul came Ready to light it up, coming out of a 4 game stretch where he was 7-9 from deep.
