You’re responding from your personal objective criticisms. Can you see that isn’t true for everyone else? A lot of fans are absolutely not being reasonable

Reibe needs to learn to use his height to defend bully ball inside (like Ejiofor & Hopkins and Peat and Lendeborg), without fouling. He does that and he's gold.

That goes for Reed too, who seems always to make himself smaller inside than bigger.

That is a foul plain and simple. There’s a good defense, forcing turnovers and then there’s literally just holding the entire time.

So yes, we have a lot of work to do on. Inbound passes Karanban looks like a deer in the headlights sometimes - yeah he’s a good free-throw shooter. Maybe we should find someone else inbound the ball to mix it up a little bit. Karaban shouldn’t be forced to do it every time IMO.

If it's the same play I'm thinking of, on Alex's turnover with ~14 seconds left, a Georgetown player wrapped up Mullins and pulled him out of bounds.

The refs need to stop allowing the garbage that most members of this conference get away with.

Those people being called out, if they’re being unreasonable, is fine. The fans that are saying they’re happy we won but there’s a couple frustrating issues should not be deemed bad fans. And that’s happening. There is definitely a distinction between the few obnoxious doom and gloomers and the people discussing a below average player basketball game.

Right. But you responded to him saying this is the most miserable 24-2 fanbase base ever. Is he wrong?

23 & 24 ruined us. Analytics ruined us. We should be excited to see how we stack up in the tourney. Instead we have fans saying ridiculous things

“We haven’t looked good all year”

“We are closer to GTown than we are top 5 teams”

“I hate watching this team”

I didn’t say close to any of those things. Call out those people, not the people discussing basketball and daring to say we ain’t perfect. There’s a distinction that isn’t difficult to see. I thought you could see that, I know other dude can’t.

If you want to use a couple people as the indicator for everyone, sure. I kinda don’t make those generalizations.

I’d say 90% are reasonable and discussing positives and negatives.

Also, I responded to him cuz he threw a hissy fit 2 games straight with ANYONE that said ANYTHING negative even when they weren’t being that negative. So, yeah, I have an issue with his stance and his lording over everyone’s opinions.

I see fan base that is overwhelmingly negative. It isn’t even 50-50. We have fans arguing with parents on twitter, Hurley calling out fans at games. Yet we are 24 and freaking 2. We’ve lost the damn plot. You’d all have loved every bit of this season in 2023.

The reasonable fans are pretty happy with this season

Reed plays below the rim. It’s what he is at this point. Adama did it and was effective but Reed is nowhere near as skilled or cerebral.

Dude, I’m not the one doing that stuff. I was positive in ‘23, I was positive in 96. Don’t lump me in with a few idiots. You’re using fans on twitter to compare a few people saying objective issues with the team?

I’m not miserable and I’m enjoying our season and I’m looking forward to the tournament. That doesn’t mean I can’t say something honest about a team that plays their C- minus game.

This is a postgame thread, meant to discuss THIS GAME. I don’t equate those comments to being miserable.

Calling out fishy or one of the dudes that said we’ve stunk all year? Go at em.

The concern is that 24-2 is a mirage because the team’s issues are being exposed. They lack physicality (see rebounding), a go to offensive threat, shoot themselves in the foot with defensive lapses and frequent fouling, and an apparent depth issue with an underperforming transfer guard and juniors who aren’t good enough to be trusted by coaching.

What record would be an accurate representation of their season?
 
There was a story about Kentucky fans a while back where people were saying “I’m not ready to give up on them yet but” when the team was like 18-1.

Not that that has anything to do with the current discussion

First, I by no means don't think we can beat those teams - it would be challenging and we might have to beat 3 of them to earn the ultimately goal.

Have you ever seen the message board of other fanbases? You think this one is relatively more negative? You're sadly mistaken if so. To Deepster's point, message boards are usually driven by analysis of a team, which is often constructive in nature.

Do you know what aggregate means? The fan base as a whole has been miserable this season. If you take that to mean YOU the individual has been negative then idk what to tell you bro.

No one @‘d you and called you negative. You decided to put a cape on and defend an objectively true statement. Even the people who are miserable with this team admit it. They just think the misery is justified lmao

I’ll end it, I guess you’re not getting it. He called me miserable in a quote and called out others that weren’t really being miserable.

Call out the actual miserable fans all you want. There’s a distinction to be made.
