I see fan base that is overwhelmingly negative. It isn’t even 50-50. We have fans arguing with parents on twitter, Hurley calling out fans at games. Yet we are 24 and freaking 2. We’ve lost the damn plot. You’d all have loved every bit of this season in 2023.
Reed plays below the rim. It’s what he is at this point. Adama did it and was effective but Reed is nowhere near as skilled or cerebral.

The concern is that 24-2 is a mirage because the team’s issues are being exposed. They lack physicality (see rebounding), a go to offensive threat, shoot themselves in the foot with defensive lapses and frequent fouling, and an apparent depth issue with an underperforming transfer guard and juniors who aren’t good enough to be trusted by coaching.
I’m not lumping you in. You are just the one who objected to the fan base being miserable. It is lmao

First, I by no means don't think we can beat those teams - it would be challenging and we might have to beat 3 of them to earn the ultimately goal.
Have you ever seen the message board of other fanbases? You think this one is relatively more negative? You're sadly mistaken if so. To Deepster's point, message boards are usually driven by analysis of a team, which is often constructive in nature.

I’ll say this. If he called you miserable I missed that. But anyone who “doesn’t feel good” about a 24-2 team is miserable considering the facts. It’s their prerogative, and they may think it’s rational and justified. We’ll see. But to act like this is normal would be insane to me. We are spoiled, entitled and are expecting complete and utter dominance. And we are upset we aren’t getting it. So upset that we aren’t happy(again as an aggregate) with our season to date. Even though there are about 360 D1 teams who would trade seasons with us today.
I hear you. I think it’s really hard to quantify. While I don’t watch a lot of Big east hoops outside of UConn, the times I do, albeit St. John’s, Providence, Creighton etc it just always feels different. Deservedly so, we are everyone’s target and when we play them, it always feels bigger. Kids seem to play bigger. That comes w the territory. My guess is if we played this year in a better conference, we would would have only a few more losses but we all would feel better. This team will be fine.
Therein lies the problem. This comparison is wild. Kentucky is barely a top 25 team, we’re 24-2. And they obviously haven’t had close to the level of success we have in recent years.

Believe me, they would be worse if they were 25-1. They'd be calling for Hurley's head after the one loss.
And I’d call them miserable and they would be laughed at. See how that works. We look ridiculous to all outside observers. I know we like to clown Cooley for chastising other fan bases. But he’s not wrong. And he is saying what everyone else is thinking.

Except for the one where he dribbled into the lane with no where to go, or no one to pass to, and then he fell down. Maybe he wasn't panicked, but I was.
Which would make no sense - that we are paying good money for 4 minutes, and that a kid is taking money over a starting role.
