Milford, you're always the positive guyI'd like to see Lou shooting 10+ FTs per game. She's nearly automatic.

See if Ashja Jones can get another year, or at least a few games.@#12in21 Maybe they could put in Amari for a minute or two, let her have a couple of VERY HARD screens where the opposing offender gets knocked to the floor a couple of times.![]()
Or Bam-Bam. She didn't pick up that nickname for nothing. They need someone like Dolson, one of her picks would end all pushing and bumping of Lou.
After the layup? I saw the kid swing her arms at LouLooked like she tried to avoid her. Maybe you saw something I didn’t.
The Providence player was standing on the baseline arms down as the ball went through the hoop. Then the Providence player intentionally sticks her right arm out to almost clothesline Lou as she turned to head back on defense.Looked to me like the Providence player pushed her after the play. Or did I imagine that?
Check out the replay within the replay of the game. Between the 7th and 6th minute of the fourth quarter Lou’s layup is replayed from the angle of the floor camera behind the basket which is a lot closer to the action and the arm swing appears to be more severe. Whether it was an intentional hit or an attempt to avoid a collision you will have decide for yourself. After the layup? I saw the kid swing her arms at Lou

So do you want to use Amari as Dave Schultz of the Broad Street Bully era Flyers?@#12in21 Maybe they could put in Amari for a minute or two, let her have a couple of VERY HARD screens where the opposing offender gets knocked to the floor a couple of times.![]()
Exactly. I was trying to make sure everyone went to the best view. It is difficult to see it from the replay in post #23.That’s what I saw during the game
I could see that, with Lou saying "Say Hello To My Little Friend"!!To bad it is so critical for Nika to remain on the court. I imagine she’d be happy to serve as her buddy Lou’s body guard and knock a few of the perpetrators on their butts with some hard screens.
Love Slap Shot! I’m a big Paul Newman fanBring on the Hanson brothers! (Obscure movie reference).![]()
Easy - suit up JamelleSo what is Geno to do about rough play? I don't think yelling at a ref accomplishes much except raise the possibility that the team committing the rough play gets two free throws and the ball.

Wow, as you said, Forego, each person needs to decide for her/himself what the Providence player did. However, it seems a bit of paranoia about rough play which has beset Lou has set in here on the BY. On this play, from both the camera angle during the game and then the later from the camera on the floor, all I saw was Lou turning into the Providence player along the baseline after her layup and the Providence player reflexively putting her hands up to avoid a collision. That’s what I saw during the game
Dayum!!
Agreed!!! I remember thinking there was something there and then saw the replay and realized no contact and nothing untoward. Lou doesn't complain and she is no stranger to pointing out contact if it happens.Wow, as you said, Forego, each person needs to decide for her/himself what the Providence player did. How anyone could make that up to be the rival player trying to clothesline Lou and/or swinging 'severely' at her is beyond my imagination. Lou takes lots of heavy hits each game, but this was not even close to one of them.
What do you mean “little”? She can switch up and guard the post.I could see that, with Lou saying "Say Hello To My Little Friend"!!![]()

IMO there should be no debate whether or not this was intentional or not. When you going for ball your fingers are extended like Providence player #1 not shaped like a claw as are #5’s. Looks like #5 is trying to use the “five point palm exploding heart technique” to gouge Lou’s eye out. Did the officials even call a foul on the play and was it an intentional 2? #5 should be suspended for the remainder of her eligibility. Lou might want to consider borrowing Ayanna’s googles for the remainder of the season.
I've seen her drive the lane through all kinds of contact and finish beautifully and hit numerous jump shots while being guarded closely.......she may be worn down and hit a wall but she has certainly performed above and beyond expectations.....I agree. I think she has a soft game and when it is physical she struggles. UCONN can't afford a game to be called close with the bench in it's current state.
I posted this in the postgame thread but watch the Providence player after Lou’s layup
It's the shots to the head that are constantly going on in games that needs to be taken out of our game. 5 is smacking her in the head and putting a finger in Lou's eye. Our players are tough but toughness doesn't prevent concussions or eye injuries.
This would have been ICE Brady if she was snot injured! OUCH!They need someone like Dolson, one of her picks would end all pushing and bumping of Lou.
Law suits will eventually occur with all videos as evidence against the game of officiating and game agendas! It's the shots to the head that are constantly going on in games that needs to be taken out of our game. 5 is smacking her in the head and putting a finger in Lou's eye. @Rowdy831, are you suggesting that Lou “has a soft game”? I’m sure you’re joking. Haha!!I agree. I think she has a soft game and when it is physical she struggles. UCONN can't afford a game to be called close with the bench in it's current state.
