What's the old saying? OP please take note:

"My mind is made up! Don't confuse me with facts!"

Keep dreaming. ;)

Sounds like Riley in the Life of Riley TV show---Don't confuse me, my head is made up. Omni-present comment from him.
I could make a comment about DREAMING but you know all about that if you've been to a VAMC. Some things just can't be mad e to sound funny.

Nice new avatar!
Thanks JS did the application and I picked Ekmark--I'm a fan.

Out in Arkansas Oklahoma they are full of OKie or Arky isms. One is about a constant complainer you say---You'd complain if you were hung with a new rope.

Which is exactly why we must pause to think for a moment BEFORE we press send.

So are you saying there should be no debating? I brought up KG, because she resides in the State of Connecticut. But you guys feel Geno is the perfect basketball God. That's great! Happy for you. People like Tony C and others bleed Uconn to a point to where only Uconn should field a great team. If you don't wind up a Uconn, then you guys throw championships in players faces, which is find and dandy. Let's be fair and impartial
Somebody's got to help this poor guy.
Hoopdreams, just plead "colossal blunder". It happens to best of us at times. Say something like: "I don't know why I said that, must have lost my head or something". Then people will feel sorry for you and let you off the hook and it will be soon forgotten. It's better to be pitied than disrespected, unappreciated or even disliked.
You're welcome in advance.

But better to be well hung  than hanged by any rope.
I didn't think you'd get away with that on the BY. Hung or hanged the end results remain the say. Does one say I was Hung or I was hanged ? Neither!!

My mistake, was more punctuation than anything else. I was quoting a typical Oklahoman comment: "You'd complain if you were hanged with a new rope."

As always--thank you for pointing this out. The effect of this is that it affects me.

Ever since UConn stopped recruiting Daneille Patterson I feel like you have been more negative towards UConn. Kiah Gillespie is a talented player but nobody in the country would pass up Katie Lou Samuelson OR Napheesa Collier. Even Maryland themselves recruited Collier really hard, and got Gillespie only after Collier committed to UConn. Also some of this is hindsight, Gillespie jumped up in the rankings after her junior AAU season, but she had already committed before then. Credit Maryland for getting on her before she "blew up" but you do not need to put UConn down, because nobody in the country that was recruiting the 2015 class would trade KLS or Collier.. FOR ANYONE!

Why can't we just wish players well instead of being critical? You are acting like Stephen A. Smith with the fake controversy.

How can you be so sure of that ?

You have seen in my first reply to this comment why punctuation guidance is required. I wrote: My mistake, (wrong no comma needed or desired. The comma stopped to flow of the sentence.

I love me some Kiah Gillespie but to say Geno dropped the ball on her is ludicrous. I'm sure UConn is very happy with KLS, Collier and Boykin. But KG has that "it" factor, especially when I saw her at the two exhibition games. I'm curious to see how she does against Pittsburgh and Syracuse later this month.
You hit it on the head. Hoopdreams bashed Geno and motivated Husky nation a little bit. Nobody bashes Geno. (.)

I never bashed Geno, but if he's exonerated from some constructive criticism, than excuse me! Geno is the greatest coach in women's college basketball at this point and time. I hold Geno in high esteem. However, let's not make him out to be perfect, because he's not.
Geez! I feel like this board is making me out to be Rex Ryan. I'm just stating how I feel. Nothing more, nothing less.

What exactly was constructive in the OP?

There was nothing constructive about your original post. Was a misguided opinion from someone who obviously has no clue about the subject.

Recruiting is not an exact science and I doubt there is a coach anywhere that would tell you differently. But let me suggest that beyond basketball skills, player personality, size and position fit, and whatever else it also has to come down to practical numbers. How many players are you going to carry? We have Geno's actual track record as well as I believe him having expresses what he considers and ideal head count (11 I think). So this year he has 13. In 9 months three of them will likely graduate (Stewart, Jefferson, Pulido). Is there any chance that there is anyone out there who might be available for the late signing period? Is there a need beyond the three gals who sent the LOI's in yesterday (Bent, Dangerfield, Irwin) and if there is who fills that need from the unsigned? And to top off the numbers thought can anyone envision Geno going to a 14 player roster? I can't unless it had been a Lauren Cox level, and she's gone.

Untrue.

Geno isn't fit to shine Bayless's shoes

Sound familiar? The post was deleted, and not by you.

"Constructive" criticism and reasoned (not to mention respectful) dissent are legit contributions to this board.

You need to figure out why your posts aren't perceived as such but rather as the work of a troll.

No rush. But be aware that ugly threads can't become a fixture around here.

I was reprimanded for this post by your moderator on another thread. Let's move on. I did not bash him on this thread.

I was the one who reprimanded you. Seems you weren't paying close attention.

So when you said you "never" bashed him, you meant never in this thread. OK. Others may disagree.

But we can agree with moving on. Will be interested in your further adventures and, in the meantime, will ask everyone to observe a ceasefire on the personal critiques for whatever life remains in this thread.

OK OK that's enough already!

What difference at this point does it make?

We can all (well most) check back in a year or three.
