Games with international teams don't count towards college coaching stats.
There was a 60 win-discrepancy between what SRCBB reports and what the official record was (1,216 wins).

I assumed this discrepancy was due to the 60 wins (52 exhibition and 8 actual) related to the 1996 Olympics.

The difference is actually due to 42 wins at Idaho (Division II) + 17 wins during Ohio State’s 1980-81 season which is not on SRCBB’s database.

(Some of y’all) are so obsessed with the total wins record. I bet Geno has never been concerned with that. He cares about championships. Nobody is close to him.
Just correcting your headline conclusion that Dawn can catch up with Geno when she coaches to age 74 with consecutive 30 win seasons (not unreasonable sounding since Dawn started coaching at age 30 while Geno at age 31).

The answer to your chosen scenario is actually closer to 79.

How?

Geno 1213 wins. Dawn 613 wins. Difference of exactly 600.

600 wins divided by 30 wins per season equals 20 seasons.

Dawn is 54. Add 20 seasons to her present age and you get 74 - not 79.

(Of course, Geno will add more wins and Dawn probably won’t coach 20 more I’ll
Years , so this is purely hypothetical)

It's hard to say what Dawn is thinking, but she made a statement in the past year that suggested she would retire in the next 10 or so years.

You said it!! I'm so glad that the 5 year signing gets rid of " when will GENO retire or how much longer will he coach". I REALLY hope Chris Daily has been extended also. The last thing you want to do is break up a winning combination like they are. Now I know my remaining years will be as enjoyable as the 11 years I have been watching Uconn BB with GENO and CHRIS .In 60 days I will be 91 and have loved Uconn's Women since I saw their first game. With this extention GENO will never ever be second in wins. GO GENO AND CHRIS!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!
Next12, I like your response here, but I want to use this opportunity to congratulate you on the upcoming birthday. Ninety One Years!! Oh, I can only imagine the things you’ve seen, the places you’ve visited, the stories you’ve told, and all the other aspects of life’s experiences that you’ve encountered. In. Y opinion you’re most likely to be an historian, and I salute you! Ninety One Years!! Happy Birthday when it arrives!!!

How? My hypothetical was not about her catching up with his future win total only about his PRESENT total.I was pointing out that it is practically impossible

Your caveat is plainly inapplicable, whose utility is akin to a nonsensical fine print.

It’s your headline number that people will remember and that number implied that Geno’s would-be record after 44 years as a head coach would be equaled by Dawn’s 44 year coaching record if she chooses to coach till she’s 74 and garners 30 wins every year.
