Gandy 5:26 minutes Six Points, four
rebounds one offensive 7. Ireland had
a big lead and then Ukraine hit 3/5 three pointers
Gandy is a good facilitator from the high post and
she is showing nice speed ( for her size ) on
transition offense. ( She does NOT trail the
flow!) One AIR BALL from the foul line...
not an Aaliyah Edwards... YET!

Gandy: Playing time: 13 minutes 21 second. She has 6 points, two for seven shooting,
two for two rebounds; Eight rebounds,
five offensive. NO ASSISTS, No Personal Fouls,

GANDY really helps with second chance points
with her offensive rebounding. She has two low post points
but misses her short jumpers with some difficulty "finishing"
under the basket... but of course she is "swarmed" by three
defenders. Interesting REBOUNDING STAT: UKRAINE
with 25 rebounds 11 offensive, Ireland 26 rebounds 7
offensive... This is probably a function of when GANDY
is IN the game vs being substituted out??

two pointer and # 3 hitting two 3 pointers!!

2/2 free throws, 10 rebound: 7 offensive, no
assists, one turnover (at least .. I saw two " walks")
efficiency up to 16.

on 5 for 12 shooting, three for four foul shots,
Fourteen REBOUNDS, 10 offensive
no three pointers, no assists, two blocks,
four turnovers, one STEAL, NO PERSONAL FOULS!
Efficiency 18. NOTE NO LEAD WAS SAFE!
Ukraine missed 8 of 12 FREE THROWS in the
FINAL QUARTER and SEVEN IN A ROW (they could
have been UP BY ONE POINT if they made the
points from the Charity Stripe!) IRELAND made
seven of eight free throws when it was needed in
the Fourth Q. Sara Hickey, # 6, for the IRISH is steady
and dependable: 4/4 free throws when needed and 12/15
free throws for the game, 24 points, with ELEVEN rebounds
one offensive. GANDY does just enough of those things to help
her team get safely crossed the FINISH LINE! Rebounding,
of course, Offensive rebounds for second chance points,
and effecting the Ukrainian offense with her presence
and intimidation! THE IRISH WIN 5TH PLACE!! GO IRISH!

This is a nice photo of GANDY " kicking the Ball out" for one of her
Irish teammates. I saw one Beautiful three pointer for the Irish
come as a result of this type of "GANDY EFFORT". Just look at her
eyes! The Irish made it across the finish line for the 5th Place
finish for many reasons... but a MAJOR one was the "second chance
points" (one of those "buried" secondary stats that I just happened
to find). The Irish were often below their opponents in FG % and
2 point % and even Free throw % but would often have 10 extra field
goal attempts... hit enough of those and you have the stat that really
counts... a winning final score... Having a BIG REBOUNDER makes a difference!
