Games Jan. 27 to Feb. 2

What year was that? Wyoming seldom makes it to the NCAA's..... though they do have a title.

2015. Oops, they played Northern Iowa. Louisville was also there but didn't face the Cowboys.

Gonzaga not running away from San Diego. 47-35 early Q4. GU has been somewhat offensively challenged but they are shutting down WCC opponents on D.

I saw USD in November or December and they were just awful. I'm surprised they are 6-3 and tied for 3rd in conference at the midway point.

One result I haven’t seen commented on is Minnesota’s come from behind win over Nebraska. The Gophers outscored the Huskers 37-22 in the second half. They’ve had more than their share of close losses lately. It’s nice to see them pull one out.

I have all the scores of ranked teams up, I keep meaning to scroll thru the full results for D1 today.

I think the Big might start to cannibalize itself a bit too much to get 9 or 10 in The Dance when all is said and done. Minnesota really needs some Ws.

Gonzaga wins 57-46. I think they have the current longest active winning streak at 19 games? Some haven't been particularly impressive, but as someone once said "Just win baby."

At this point Minnesota would be team #10. They do need wins, and it's an uphill battle for them, as they have the UConn problem of lack of both height and depth. But if they can manage 4 more wins they could be one of those teams that goes 7-11 in conference and still squeaks in. They do have one of the better OOC wins over Arizona State.

How secure is Michigan for making the field? And who would've guessed their OOC win over Bradley might end up being better than beating ND or Syracuse?

Michigan, Ohio State and Nebraska are on the bubble right now. Not secure at all.

I think it's more an advantage than disadvantage to be in the Big Ten because all these teams are getting lots of chances at quality wins.

@Plebe you can add SNY to the Cincy/UConn game on Thursday. During the ECU game, they said that this would be the next game for broadcast.

Also, can you refresh my memory on why some games are in bold print?
I somehow just noticed this last question. Sorry for the delay. I try to mark in bold the games that I feel are the most intriguing or important. Obviously, it's a subjective thing. I try to highlight not just the "marquee" games between highly ranked teams, but also games with special bearing on the NCAA tournament picture and/or within a conference race.

Missouri St. up 18-10 early against Bradley in a key Missouri Valley game.

DePaul-Creighton and Missouri St.-Bradley are both double digit leads for the ranked team in Q2.

Xavier, 2-18 on the season and without their best player, is currently in overtime against Butler, who is tied for second in the Big East.

edit: Xavier leads 61-60 with about 30 seconds left. Down to just seven healthy players tonight, and two have fouled out, leaving them with five.

Xavier’s PG lost her shoe with 20 seconds left, and with no timeouts, couldn’t get a good look. She then fouled out leaving them with four players.

Wow, here comes Creighton. 16-2 run to start Q3, now only down by 6.

Creighton is like a combination of the ASU and USC of the Big East.

Missouri St. is up 30. So...Bradley probably isn't the best team in the MVC after all.

DePaul clinging to a 49-46 lead near the end of Q3.

Creighton now up 52-50. What an epic collapse by DePaul. They had Creighton doubled up at the half.

Missouri St. up 40. Is this a statement game?

And ASU defeated Creighton earlier this season. It looks like Creighton without their star Agnew may upset DePaul.

I have a feeling they were motivated playing the conference leader. Missouri State had looked very flat since December, and barely escaped a couple conference games before losing to Southern Illinois.

Looks like we've got a shootout in Pullman. Washington St. leading Cal 13-12 a bit less than 5 minutes in.

The NC teams in the CAA were 1-1 tonight. UNC-W won on the road against hapless Hofstra 62-59. HuskyNan's Elon Phoenix lost at home to William and Mary 84-77. Notice when Elon wins.. they are My Phoenix.... .. but when they lose, they are HuskyNan's :p
