Game Week 2022 - UConn v. BC Eagles (Homecoming - Saturday 10/29/22 @ Noon on CBSSN)

The defense played great today. Hafley looked like he was going through the motions, big problems with that program. I’m not sure what Tom Penders is referring too regarding their facilities. From what I saw online they have no excuses. They suck! Bad coaching and a lot slower than I thought they would be.

Onto the New England Championship game! BC v CCST in the 3rd place game, haha!

When the ACC announced BC would be a future member, the official press release welcomed “Boston College University” to the conference.
ACC…….Almost Consequential Conference; About (to be) Collapsed Conference; Apparently Condemned Conference.

Ouch.

For Boston College, it might be time to consider just putting up some police tape where the offensive line should be and hope the opposition respects the "do not cross" warnings. In any case, the loss was the first for BC against a team from New England since 1978.

Didn't UMass beat them once about 10 years ago? Maybe that was just a bad dream I had, or a good dream, IDK.

Attendance today? Guesses for Friday night? My wife and I are making the trip to CT from TX for my niece's wedding and plan to be there, so +2. :)
I'd also like to know attendance. Looked like a good crowd. Doubt next week is as good, though

Gr8 time at the Rent today. Best home win since Houston 2015. Good to hang with FfldCntyFan (thanks for tickets & tailgate) and ElGuapo. Game still would have been the highlight of the day even if I had hit Powerball...

My name is Kolumbo and I am a UCONN-beat-BCU-holic. They last played in 2017 at fenway and UCONN lost 39-16. this was bcu's first trip to The Rent. I don't care how bad a year bcu from the acc is having. UCONN held bcu to 3 points. a field goal!!

I looked at bcu's roster and they have about 15 kids from Mass, 2 from CT. I think HC Jim Mora is going to strike gold on the recruiting trail. He's lighting it up and making news. It's one thing to make a splash as a coach, but to be Jim Mora and make a splash a UCONN, this type of news is going to help recruiting big time. And promote UCONN. HCJM is going to bring big tie talent to Storrs, there is no question.

Under the “Miserable but not miserable enough” category:

-> Boston College: No matter how bad things get, Boston College should always be able to say "At least we aren’t UConn!" But despite their ACC membership and a much healthier recent history, the Eagles suffered the indignity of a 13-3 loss in the renewal of an old Big East rivalry. Boston College lost because it turned the ball over five times, which is the immediate story. The larger issue is that the Eagles are 2-6 and tailspinning toward 2012 territory when Frank Spaziani went 2-10 and got fired. <-

The fact that this is considered a huge win says a lot about how far the team has fallen. The face that they won, says more about how far they have come. Decent crowd which I am sure was helped by BC being close by. Nice step in the right direction. Good to see these kids get to taste some success. Last year this was probably a 37 to 13 loss against this same BC team.
