I think this scene was in the "shrinkage" episode.Speaking of Seinfeld, who can forget "She knows about shrinkage, doesn't she?"
I was privileged to attend one of the special previews. In order to make movie Sellers had to agree to play several parts. Pickens (who I met a year or two later and gave directions to) and George C Scott were excellent.Scud, I forgot about Dr. Strangelove. Has any actor ever played multiple roles in a movie like Peter Sellers? I think that just about anyone of the supporting actors in that movie could have received an oscar. One of the classic scenes in the history of motion pictures is Slim Pickens going out of the chute on the bomb.
I remember being in the army watching Porky's with a bunch of paratroopers. Not sure if we were delirious but I have never laughed so hard as I did the first time I saw it. We were literally falling on the floor. So many funny scenes we went home with stomach aches.
Porky's: Principal's office
I was wondering when someone was going to mention Porky's. The Ballbricker scene with Tommy in the girls shower had me in tears. The principal office scene was hilarious. Also don't forget the boys locker room and the socks with Kim Cattrall. The second Porky's was crap but they had a very good rebound with Porky's III.
Little known late night movie that was funny is HOTS. Had a lot of funny scenes in that movie with a cameo appearance by Danny Bonaduce (Patridge Family).
I'm not sure it was mentioned but I like both Revenge of the Nerds movies. Also have to mention my boy Eddie Murphy and Coming To America.
+1 Kevin Kline was hilarious in that one..Movies I would go with. In no particular order.
Princess Bride
Birdcage
Big Lebowski
This Is Spinal Tap
Trainwreck
The Hangover
A Fish Called Wanda
Raising Arizona
Burn After Reading
Office Space is a hidden gem, especially for those of us who worked in an office. It really hits close to home.
Great lines, "what a set of knockers" or "what hump?"Young Frankenstein
I went through the first 4 pages again and two movies I noticed were omitted, Police Academy (the horse scene was hilarious) and Back to School (sort of funny but some classics lines). episode.
For TV shows, I know they are suppose to be funny, but what about cartoons?
The Flintstones had some hilarious episodes. Especially the Romeorock and Juliettestone episode.
The wife loves, "I don't know how you guys walk around with those"Speaking of Seinfeld, who can forget "She knows about shrinkage, doesn't she?"
And I have read that the vast majority of the show's dialog is ad libbed/improvised.Went through the five pages and noticed that 'Curb your Enthusiasm" was not mentioned. Larry David strikes again. The stuff he gets into is hysterical, and again the supporting cast just adds to the mayhem.
Bama, I don't know if you are old enough to remember but one of the most popular "funnies" in the forties and fifties was a strip names "Maggie and Jiggs". That supposedly was the cartoon that Bringing Up Baby was based on.Bringing Up Baby.
I always had trouble between choosing between the Killer Rabbitt and The Black Knight as the funniest scene in that movie. Then I remember the scene at castle attack.Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Duck Soup
Never saw that one.Bama, I don't know if you are old enough to remember but one of the most popular "funnies" in the forties and fifties was a strip names "Maggie and Jiggs". That supposedly was the cartoon that Bringing Up Baby was based on.
'Guarding Tess,' with Nicolas Cage and Shirley MacLaine.
Ah, memories of bar-b-que sandwichs and the skytop cone. They also had a copycat of Islays called "Bards" around for awhile. Almost identical setting with the white bricks and menu. My wife, on special occasions, buys me a case of Islay's sauce once or twice a year. We lived across the hall from a gentleman who was the manager of the Islays in New Kensington and he gave my grandmother the recipe for the sauce. It's actually vey close to the real thing.Never saw that one.
