Friday's Sweet Sixteen Games

Just wish Ohio St would play some good defense with the talented players they have. It looks like ND is going to win this game by 20+ points.

It would the first time this year that tOSU played defense. McGuff is a terrible coach...ND has missed 5+ lay-ups. they could be up 30.

Conditioning a factor in this game, MSU post player destroying Osafor now.

Surprising to me.. She had the off season to improve her conditioning. I understand her knee issues, but wouldn't a good trainer assist with that?

The fact that OSU can't take advantage of ND being down a post player just proves to me that the Buckeyes are probably just a sweet sixteen team under McGuff. Absolutely no discipline on defense letting ND have wide open 3's and not taking advantage of their post players. Irish move on and so I'm I. Let's see what Plum is doing!
Such a credit to the ND players to pound this street ball team. However if I were Muffet the lack of defense would concern me. But at this point any victory is a good victory.

Not surprised - I couldn't understand why ESPN expects were unanimous with Washington winning. Miss State especially when the games are allowed to be a little physical has a stable of strong post players. They have dominated rebounding by crashing the boards an touching the ball before and above where Osahor's clamps can close down on it - 19 offensive rebounds so far and a 43 to 28 lead in boards.

Hard to get into good shape when your conditioning pretty much consists of riding a stationary bike occasionally. UDub and Osahor should just be thankful they never played UConn. She'd be filling up her bucket list on the sideline.

Good call on the Dillingham flop. However, Neighbors saying Miss. State is more tired than they to his team is, well, not quite accurate.

Is it me or are these games a little dull..?

Horrible crowds+no atmosphere. WCBB needs to get its act together when selecting regionals and Final Foiurs. Kentucky and Oklahoma hosting are about 5-10 years late respectively.

MSU taken out of their offensive flow by slowing down the pace.

I was really pulling for Washington to come out of the Oklahoma City regional because Gabby and Napheesa would run Osahor out of the gym, but it doesn't seem likely.

.-.
That 4th on Osahor was so unnecessary. Looked like a flagrant to me.

Washington going home a tired team. Williams has scored 3 points in the last 2 games!?

Haven't read thru the whole thread yet. Mississippi St. won this game w/ offensive rebounding. That's it. It wasn't their defense, it was crushing UW on the O boards.

I'm pretty pissed off that Neighbors didn't try putting Strother out there. She doesn't play a lot, but she's 6-5 and BIG. Collier and Johnson were completely helpless against MSU's bigs. If what you're doing isn't working, you gotta try something different, but he never did.

Such a weird game. All Huskies in the 1st and 3rd quarter, all MSU in the 2nd and 4th quarter.

McCowan was a beast.

McCowan is impressive.

Even when looking at her from the perspective of the broadcast camera, she sort of sticks out. Most players of her height look rail thin or otherwise odd in proportions. She almost looks like she has normal proportions, but scaled up.

Physical specimen who could do some real damage against anyone if she improves her skills over the next couple of years.

That's the end of Plum's college career. Getting some hugs post-game.

I say Plum, this great player who has helped push the appreciation of WCBB into the spotlight this year, should not leave the state of Washington to play her pro ball. Anyone who thinks this young lady isn't deserving of the POY to heck with them.

Not surprising Landers gleeful at watching an SEC win convincingly.

As so many have said here tonight what was OSU thinking while game planning for ND? They're weak as hell in the paint and you know they need threes to win. How the hell do you let them shoot THAT MANY wide open threes? And them compound that by not working the ball into the paint yourselves. That's got to be on McGuff.

Holmes will be Texas' X-Factor. If she performs well Texas wins a close one. If not, Stanford by 10-15.

Dillingham did a nice job on Plum defensively. Otherwise she was able to get shots. Had a quiet 2nd quarter but got it going after halftime. Not her best game, but 29 pts. 5 reb 5 assists is pretty good for an off night. Sad to see her career end, it's been so much fun watching her play.

I didn't like that chippy foul late by Osahor. It was just frustration I'm sure, but that's not like her at all, she's better than that.
